Hi,
The Talamasca first appears in the book The Vampire Lestat, which was
published in 1985. It then appears in Queen of the Damned in 1988 and
another Anne Rice series about the Mayfair witches in the first book The
Witching Hour, which was published in 1990. I don't know of its origins but
she uses the organization in both series. Don't know if that actually helped
at all :)

You can definitely order it from Amazon. I ordered mine January 19th.
It will ship from Amazon on April 18th for an estimated delivery date
between April 23-25. Cost is $29.98 + $2.98 s/h = $32.96.
