I had never watched the show before, and only ready the comic abit. But I
did like Roger Daltry's character on the show. Though the ending was cheesy.
       What did anyone else think?

LOL! Not that I recall. I *think* I retreated when I started smelling
something burning and hence avoided any major damage. Ever since I've just
lurked and enjoyed the analysis, interpretations and assorted wisdom posted
by others. I never was a good debater. :)

Oh, and went to the Baltimore con which was really neat but was too damn shy
to just go up and foist myself upon other attendees/listees.

I do, too. The night we all got the bad news, I had a "get well" card sitting
on my desk that was all ready to mail except for the stamp. It had been
sitting there for at least a couple of weeks. It helped to read all the
wonderful memorials to Kip, and hear from the people on the WNN list about
him, but I still regret not sending that damn card the day his address was
      posted here on the list.

Every other year or so, David and I find ourselves in Glenwood Springs,
Colorado. I *think* that's where Kip is buried; anyway, for some reason, the
place reminds me of him.. Actually, a lot of odd things remind me of him at
times... a roll of duct tape. Beat up old sofas. Fireplace utensils. Animated
spokeshands. The new ferret character in Get Fuzzy! (no, wait, that reminds
me of Her Weezulness, but also of Kip). ;)

A search on Google just brings back more memories... hey, waitaminnit, never
      saw this before:

Kip would have loved the "Thoroughly Modern Millie" gag.

I dunno, maybe we'd better have an "MIA Roll Call!" thread.

You can't seriously be suggesting that Carmel is the type of pathetic loser who would bide her time for *two years* - nursing her hurt feelings and waiting for an opportunity to swoop in and hit back over some ancient perceived personal attack?? What an awful thing to suggest! I just can't believe that Carmel is the kind of person who would lurk on a list for months and months with the sole purpose of slamming someone for a long ago "sting". No....No....*I* believe that Carmel was moved by Nina's arguments and felt that she had something positive to contribute to the discussion. To suggest any other motive for Carmel's post is to do her a great injustice.

      >And the list has not been the same since.

I don't think the list has been the same since Kip died..but we soldier on nonetheless.

Wendy(Carmel's post was a lovely parody of the self-righteous, self-important, self-involved posts one sometimes sees on lists.)(Kudos)

Now, I'm confused. It was "*not* a long time ago." Yet, it is now "two
years later." Admittedly, 2 years isn't _that_ long in terms of this list's
entire run, but it IS a hell of a long time to bear a grudge, which seems to
be what you are assuming about Carmel.

And I take it that I did something so terrible to Carmel that she's been
licking her wounds for that long? Must have been a doozy. Virtual blood
ran? Innocents fled in horror? Odd that I have zero idea what you're
talking about.... Odd that I wasn't flayed by the list owner for atrocious
behavior. Oh, well, guess I'll burn in hell for it, & all will be well.
