      Hi all
I have FINALLY managed to see HL:EG. It's been on since the 12th in South
Africa, but I live in a place where they roll up the streets at 9pm, so I
had to wait a week before visiting my parents. Anyway, like I said, finally
saw EG and I was quite surprised to find that there was a good 95% match to
the script that was posted on that website quite a while back. Was good,
though. I enjoyed the movie from an entertainment viewpoint. Sad about
Connor (good cuddle point in the movie though). Visually it was quite
      spectacular. Now comes the question-bit.

In the series (the ep where Tessa died and I almost stopped watching) it was
mentioned that Duncan was never married. This is quite blatantly ignored in
this movie. It is also said/described somewhere (don't have that details)
that an Immie basically becomes immobile after beheading people. How come
Kell managed to - in his own merry time - behead 5 people before receiving
their Quickenings? Just a thought. Did anyone also notice that Kell's head
count was 666 when he faced DM? Devil boy?

Oh, one other thing. Raven is showing in SA and Nick Wolfe became Immortal
last night. Just thought I'd mention it.

Shout out to all the rest of the SA HL Fans. I'll give you ladies a shout
      out later on.

      My opinion above and below.
Food for thought: Corduroy pillows are making headlines.

      Lance opines:
      >I suppose its writing.

Yes, Lance, it *is* writing. It's writing that is thought well of in the industry and has earned Gillian a living for some time. How many scripts have *you* sold recently?

      > Many of us weren't happy with what was done to Richie
      >in the series,

And some of us were just fine with it. If you dislike shows were characters die, don't watch Highlander.

      >anymore than Connor in the film.

Again, some of us had *no* problem with Connor becoming a head shorter.

      >INMH, TPTB need to dump the
      >current "Creative" team and bring in fresh new talent. perhaps some respect
      >for the characters will rejuvenate the franchise.

The only character you seem to care about is DEAD!!!!!!! Are you looking for new writers who are willing to write a "shower" scene for Connor? Yeah, that went over *so* well in "Dallas".

      >>I think you should know, the Consortium keeps watch on people who make
      >sick jojes about Connor and his supporters. This was not funny, and I hope

You mean you spy on people? Keep files filled with perceived insults to a dead fictional character? Stalk people at their homes and jobs? Follow their cars? Tap their phones? Bomb their e-mail? Is that what you mean? I'm beginning to feel a bit threatened..maybe I'll call the FBI and suggest that someone ought to be looking at your "Consortium".

      No..wait...I *have* a life.

      >And I'm glad you like Connor, hope you like him enough to fight for his life.

He's dead, Lance. Dead dead dead. Good riddance to him...with his incomprehensible accent, Neanderthal brow ridges, slouching shoulders and bad hair.

(Not to mention that he's a fictional character who *has* no life to fight for.)

      >People who agree that he should die are not tru HL fans, IMHO.

It isn't a matter of whether he "should" die or not. He's DEAD!!! His head has left the building. Jump in the River Denial if you want (and if the crowd already there will have you ) but it changes *nothing*. Connor bit the big one..he totally lost his head..he went to that big loch in the sky.

As for being a "true fan", Debbie has asked us to drop that useless debate.

About an animated series, Lance says:
      >I brought your idea to the Consortium and they are considering it. Would you
      >like to serve as a writer for the series if they fund it?

Is talking to yourself considered taking it to the Consortium?

BTW Lance, you keep saying that CL has said he would do a future HL movie if asked..could you please give me a citation to whatever magazine, newspaper, on-line chat, TV appearance, etc where CL said that. Thank you kindly.

Yikes!!! Don't encourage him! He'll come up with the notion that Connor is
about to be reborn as Scully's baby!

Well, the thing with HL is that there is so much in it that one can
watch for various reasons. I mean, I love Richie (just keep quiet,
Wendy! <g>) but he isn't my *entire* reason for watching Highlander.
I have always watched HL for the premise, for the "HL" concept
      in total.

And, Lance, I think what a lot of people are trying to get across is
that it isn't mentally healthy to fixate on one aspect of *anything*.

      >He's dead, Lance. Dead dead dead. Good riddance to him...with his

Hey! Not all of us are going into de(river)nial about his death,
but some of us do like him. I've always liked him. I mean, he's one
thing no other HL character will ever be... the first one. <g>

      >He's DEAD!!! His head has left the building. Jump in the River Denial
      >if you want (and if the crowd already there will have you )

No, Lance must get his own river. This one is quite full. And he
can't have a red shirt either.
