I haven't heard about this, and while it's been some years I've read
all of Huff's Blood series books. Victory (Victoria) Nelson is an ex-
cop who is going blind and is now a private investigator. Her ex-
lover/boyfriend, or maybe he still is, I can't quite remember, is a
detective on the force. During some investigation she meets Henry
FitzRoy, a romance novelist and vampire and becomes aware of the
supernatural world. There is also a street kid/prostitute named Tony
with some psychic abilities. For slashers Tony becomes involved with
Henry, but there's a lot of UST between Henry and Victory. How much
of the Henry/Tony relationship will make it onto the series is
anyone's guess. Tony may just become another Richie, not that I
didn't love Richie, there only for getting into trouble he needs to
be rescued from, or maybe they'll eliminate him altogether, which
would be a pity because I like Tony. In fact Tanya Huff started a
new series centered around Tony. I'd say the series is more like
Forever Knight/HL with most people unaware of what's going on. At
least the books were that way.

Thanks for mentioning this Heidi, I wouldn't have known about it
otherwise. And for another vampire series coming to tv, Charlaine
Harris' Sookie Stackhouse books are being made into an HBO series.

Have any of you heard much about the `Blood Ties' tv series being
made from Tanya Huff books? I saw a commercial for it this week
and the series starts Sunday on Lifetime. I think I read one
of the books several years ago but don't remember much about
it. I'm curious what the series might be like though. For the
people who haven't heard of it, it seems the lead character
is a female private investigator who teams up with a several
hundred year old vampire. The info on the Lifetime site
      (www.lifetimetv.com/shows/bloodties/index.php) mentions her
solving supernatural crimes. For those of you who have read
the books, is it alot of scifi/fantasy, or is the setting
more like the HL/Forever Knight realms? (ala very few
supernatural types of characters and most people don't know
      they exist.)
