You coughed?
Did I not seem interested? Maybe that was one of the days I was on drugs
<eg> Send them along, woman! (Are they too big to email?)(We'll work
something out)
I suspect that between all of us here, we have most of the archives.
Maybe we should try to piece them together. We could make it a group
project. I just love group projects <EG>. Everyone could look at their
hard drives and old disk collections and find what they have. Then
we'll (I'll) consolidate and make it all available to whomever wants it.
(Me.)
I'll start:
I have the complete archives starting in June of 1995.
Who has something earlier? Janine? Come on, you old pack rat! You know
you have this stuff.
Wendy(People with 3.5" disks they can no longer read on their machines
can just ....um....we'll work something out)

Two weeks without internet access and I get back to this.

While the archives are, indeed, of value, especially to those of us who
were here "back in the day", they don't, to my mind, represent the real
value of this List.

As others have said (This is a "me too" post!), I'm here until Debbie
turns out the lights - whether Debbie gives a damn or not.
> 2) Start a new list;
Again, as others have said (Me Too!!!), it's probably kind of late to
start a new list for a dead TV show and a dying franchise. If "The
Source" proves to be a huge success (both artistically and financially)
perhaps we'll attract some new blood. If not, the geezers, the lurkers
and the occasional late-comers will just muddle through here.
> 3) Bag it and everyone leave for LJ land.
Once again <eg> (ME TOO!!!!) I too have tried LJ and found it wanting.
It's not LJ's problem, it's mine. I hate the format.
And so, here I shall sit.

We made good use of Avon Skin-So-Soft --- now that we knew what we were up against. And we stayed away from moist Midge gathering places.

I remember someone warning me about the midges on Skye Island.
Ah yes, the pesky wee creatures are a bother :)
Thank God one of our friends had warned us and we went prepared with anti
midge spray on our visit and I could tell it really worked.

We are in Edinburgh now -- we will probably spend the remaining days venturing to and from the city -- right now I Am in the honey pot cafe struggling with an unfamiliar keyboard. Are you near?

We saw backpackers covered in sores. In the Midwest US where I am from, we have mosquitoes, ticks and chiggers -- but I've never been surrounded by a swarm of biting creatures before.. Well, maybe in Minnesota....

>>Midges like dusk, they like shade and they like water<<
Not forgetting that they love fair skin - though they will eat anything
on offer.
>>- you're safest in full sunlight, stay away from trees and
lochs........ but they will avoid smoke - look for a BBQ party, or
someone smoking a big cigar and stand in the smoke <g><<
This is why thay have banned smoking in pubs if everyone stands outside
and smokes it will keep the midges down....brilliant. ;-/
I once had a work mate who went on the forest stages of the Scottish
rally, got eaten alive....bad enough but he went back the following
year...now I'm car daft but even I won't do that.

If the weather stays clear tomorrow, I'd really suggest The Camera Obscura,
which is up next to the Castle. On a day like today you should be able to
see
all the way across to Fife and down to the Borders. You climb up to the
top of an old (very old) building and sit inside a darkened room. A
periscope projects a live, real time, view onto a circular table in the
centre
of the room with amazing clarity.
You could also explore Calton Hill and see the views of the city from
there.
If you enjoyed the Castle, you'll enjoy Holyrood Palace. Holyrood
Park (next to the palace) is a small expanse of tranquil countryside
in the heart of the city, with its own bonsai mountains.
Take a wander up the road known as "The Queen's Drive" (the
queen in question was Victoria) and see the views of the city
from there

There's also a spectacular sculpture exhibition on in the park
just now, with about 20 or so stone carvings like this
