      Nina is having fantasies:
      > No disrespect to Josh Holloway,
      > but AP would have made a fabulous Sawyer on Lost. We KNOW
      > that AP can do "dirty-hot sexy guy who can charm the pants
      > off his victims as easily as shoot them in the back."

Hmmmm... If I were casting AP in Lost, I think he's more the Jack type.
He's too old for the Sawyer part but would make a very good sexy doctor.
(Con men must be young and sexy, doctors can be older and still sexy)(At
      least on TV)

      > AND--AP just MUST be on Battlestar Galactica. As a Cylon, of
      > course--
      >And he would have to have tons
      > of sex scenes w/ Tricia Helfer's Six, just because that
      > exquisite pairing SHOULD exist on film (w/ easy download).

Couldn't he just be a nice human pilot and have sex with Starbuck? (I
can hardly bring myself to type that as I still think of Starbuck as a
man)(It would feed those slash fantasies.)(DEBBIE!!!)(I mentioned
      slash!)

In all seriousness, it would be nice to see AP in a continuing role on a
serious TV series. ..something that *didn't* require him to use martial
arts, use a weapon weekly, get nekkid, or crack really bad jokes. Then
we would see if he really can act <eg>(DEBBIE! I'm diss'ing AP's acting
ability). A role on one of the Law&Order shows......an administrator on
"Grey's Anatomy" or "House"...a new agent on "Without a Trace"....Jack's
new partner on "24" (OK, he'd have to hit people and would get killed in
      the 17th hour, but still...)

Does he *not* try out for parts like these? If not, why not? Does he
audition and never get picked? If so, why? I've only known a few actors
but the one thing they had in common was the irresistible urge to *act*.
It didn't matter if it was local dinner theatre or a major movie- they
were always after parts. Money wasn't a factor- they acted whether they
had enough money to live on or not.

So..are AP's long periods of unemployment 1) just normal for all actors
today regardless acting experience 2) a result of his own reluctance to
act in anything he doesn't consider "just right" (which, given his
choices, makes me wonder) or 3) the result of a million failed
      auditions?

Wendy(No, Marina, AP can't be a Wraith.)(Why hire him just to hide him
      behind blue/white horror make-up?)(Not a Prior either)(A cooler, sexier
addition to Sheppard's team?)(SG1 doesn't need AP, it has Ben Browder
      now.)

No, no, he can be another of those retrovirus experiments! :) I mean, look
how well the last one worked. Oooh... pretty! ;)

       >(Not a Prior either)

Hey, if AP were a Prior I might be tempted to convert. Hallowed are the
      Orii.

       >(A cooler, sexier addition to Sheppard's team?)

Well, they already have Ronon. Bwaha! ;)

       >(SG1 doesn't need AP, it has Ben Browder now.)

Ben Browder? Hah! It's had Michael Shanks for NINE YEARS! Who needs
Ben Browder when you have Sexy, Cute Archaeologist Boy (tm) and
      MacGyver? Dammit, I miss MacGyver!!

      - Marina. (Actually, I've always liked Ben Browder. He's doing a great job.
Except for those moments when he slips into Crichton by mistake. But I can
forgive him, 'cause he's cute.) (Not as cute as Michael Shanks, but one
      can't have everything.)

I would dispute the long periods of unemployment thing. I am sure some of
it is that as he has said, he has been typecast so it is difficult to get
certain roles [which is why I believe he is doing a Highlander movie again, great
money, he loves the role and if you are going to be typecast do it right].
BUT unemployed? No. He's been in a series of B movies, that, while they will
never make him famous, have mostly been *different* roles so that he can beef
up his acting chops [of which I believe he has many]. And much of last year
was given over to working intently on a live stage production which
[according to the many fans who traveled to LA to see it] was an extraordinarily
challenging and taxing role for him.
He has also finished work [working on it for 2 years now] on a screenplay
which may or may not get picked up since he has been shopping it around for
      several months now].

So to answer your question, I don't think he is looking for a tv role at the
moment. He has said he wants to do live theater again and he has thrown
himself one more time into the HL breach. Would I like to see him in something
like Without a Trace or 24 on a regular basis? Heck yeah, just seeing him
would be a treat. But if he is making other choices and is happy with his money
and career [and he certainly seems to have his personal life on a delightful
keel for several years now] then so be it.
