Very true. Although it is possible that he's a Wolfram & Hart client and
is protected from such minor inconveniences as that.

Maybe it's something in the LA sun? (Being a vampire *could* explain why
Jack has come back from the dead so many times)(And how he recovers so

Apparently the Bits might be getting HL, because it's advertised as
      "coming soon" on
a local online DVD store. Which makes sense, since we got HL here. But
      FK I had

Nick only *thinks* you can Shanshu, but in the FK universe you really can't.
Unless you have a baby. And I don't see any Xyrillians around for him to
      play in pebbles with.

Too much sucking going on! DEBBIE! You can't WANT us to talk about sucking
      on this list?!

Nick had worse impulse control than Spike. Heck, he had worse impulse

than Angelus, and that's really saying something!

Well, you'd know best. My knowledge of FK is moderate, not fanatical. I
thought you got to be mortal again by 1) being in love with a mortal, 2)
taking blood during sex but not too much and 3) some great soul-rending
trauma. I must have missed the baby part.

Bah! A little acerbity is just what we need. As Sam Kineson was to comedy, so are Nina's posts to the List.

LOL LOL! I was only quasi following comments about Shanshu-ing cuz I wasn't into the FK universe or the Buffyverse and all that other vampire stuff, but this explains it all.

I think it's everyone's right to be happy when a show they actively,
passionately like is kept on air or when a show they actively, pasionately
hate is taken of air. It's also everyone's right (as Nina so gloriously
demonstrates every time she sits at a keyboard and feels the blod pumping to
her fingers) to have whichever those opinions they desire and to express
that emotion. I doing so, you accept that others don't share your view. If
all we got was wall to wall Disney channels it would be just as scary a
world as wall to wall Tarantino.

I very rarely call for any show to be banned, though there have been several
I think utterly shame their creators and play to the lowest common
denomenator of the viewing public. Usually i record numbers. I'm
uncomfortable with calls for actual bans and I think boycotts are rarely
workable and if we admit that we all have differing tastes, then I have no
desire to take away anyone's right to watch whatever they want (as long as
it doesn't break the law). Ultimately, I'll simply turn off/over my remote I
dislike a program, but I reserve the right to lambast it to anyone who'll
listen if I feel persnickety about it. Don't even get me started on Fox
      News!

But there has been an intersting point raised here. I'm all for having fun
and humour about religion and race as long as it's somewhat clever ie:
satricial at concepts rather than merely racist or spiteful. For example:
The KKK aren't funny, but there's jokes to be ame at their expense and how
many Jewish people think Jackie Mason is a racist beause of his style? It's
all about context and intent and timing. I haven't seen The Book of Daniel,
so I can't common that specifically, but it's always been my view that large
religious institutions should be able to handle the slings and arrows of
outrageous satire. Any God I believe in can surely take a joke. Life of
Brian is inherently hilarious because it's NOT about Christ, it's about the
nature of humans and building a fledgling *religion*. But it is worrisome
that we feel free to satirise Christianity but live in fear of offending
Muslims, Jews, *insert religion of choice* and could literally be taken to
court for it given new legislation.

There's a time and purpose (could be a porpoise, which would explain a lot)
for everything under heaven and in the TV schedules. The difference is that
on TV, it's the public and the advertising that bring judgement day earlier
and earlier. Though I wish some hadn't made it off the pag, I'm willing to
give any show around five episodes to get an audience it deserves - as long
as I can scream praise or shout distaste all the way.

      John
