So--the CAH/REV arc has rolled around on SPIKE tv. It's all steeply
downhill quality-wise for the series (& for the franchise) after these 2
eps, though I think the upcoming FUOT is right up there. Also, Byron's show
is at least thought-provoking. And, Archangel has a spectacular ending.
Otherwise.... There are a couple S6 eps that don't make me want to put out
_both_ my eyes, but still--pale comparison to _good_ Highlander.

You mean Bill Panzer? Peter Davis usually stays behind the scenes. I
haven't seen the S2 stuff yet, but Panzer did ALL the S1 stuff--badly. He's
the boss; I don't think anyone directs him--more's the pity.

I'm inclined to agree about Season 6 even without
seeing it. There are a couple Season 5 eps I'm still
looking forward to, like Duende and Stone of Scone,
but other than that, it's mostly downhill, yes. As for
S6, the one one I really wanted to see, Indescretions
aka Joe and Methos Road Show, isn't going to be shown.
The last four aren't being shown. And I don't
understand why in ToH and Indescretions, Duncan wasn't
even there. And ToH had no recognizable characters at
      all. Sheesh.

      Sometimes I think about ignoring S6 altogether...not
because of Richie, but because there weren't any eps
in S6 up to the quality of some of the ones earlier on
in the series. Lemme see...Season 1-not so bad, 2 had
too many stinkers....IMHO, 3,4 and 5 is when many of
      the best eps aired.

Well, I can say I didn't like her and Mac
together...and no, she's not one of my favorites.

IIRC, they decided to do S6 so late that a lot of the stars were busy.
So Peter wasn't in the early eps and Adrian had to wrap up early. So Two
of Hearts and Indescretions were actually the last two eps shot.

Personally, ToHs is one of my very favorite eps, even without Duncan.
Those guys had great chemistry. I would have loved watching a whole
series about them. How can you not like an immortal who posed for the
Kama Sutra and isn't ashamed to use that knowledge to get her own way? <g>

That reminds me ... one more big peeve with Bill Davis. He frequently mixes
up the actor and the character. When discussion "The Darkenss", he said
"Tessa wanted to leave the show." No, she didn't. Tessa was a character.
Tessa died. Alexandra wanted to leave the show. He does that over and over
and over again. That _really_ bugs me.

Well, unless Duncan was doing a lot more slicing and
dicing in ArcA, there are only two chunks of Richie
to go around. Maybe the Richie list will lend you
      one of the clones...

Perhaps, but I would much rather have Cassandra as my cabin/cabana "boy"

      Peggy--

Cassandra seems wrong to me--on so many levels. This time around, it was
her accent that drove me up a wall; I was pulled out of the story every time
she swanned around & laboriously let loose w/ some dialogue. Exactly WHAT
was Tracy Scoggins going for w/ Cassandra's accent? Certainly wasn't her
      native Texas twang.

      >Would have
      > changed the whole dynamics if she were a sympathetic character....(or
      > actress - maybe in other hands...)

Speaking of her hands, wasn't her manicure lovely back in the Bronze Age?

But, on the other hand, Val Pelka was startlingly perfect as Kronos, start
to finish, in both ages. I believe a couple actors who showed up in S6
auditioned for the part--Charles Daish (played Grant Thomas in Sins of the
Father) & Andrew Bicknell (played Devon Merrick in Black Tower).
Impossible to imagine.... Oddly, I've read that the writers thought VP was
too small & pretty to play Kronos, so they cut his hair & added the wicked
      scar.

And Duncan does Western chic better than should be legal--AP makes a yummy
cowboy. The CAH flashback & the one back in S3's The Revolutionary were
both set in 1867--in S. Texas & in Mexico, respectively--& were beautifully
done, particularly considering they were shot outside of Vancouver--not
exactly known for its southwestern-looking locales.

Nina (I read someplace recently that cats sleep so much that a 7 year old
cat has only been awake for 2 years. In that light, maybe Cassandra spent
so much time on her hair & nails in 5,000 years that she's only had 3 weeks
to work on sword skills; it would explain a lot.)
