Sure, THAT's gonna end well....

All the more reason I'm glad the DVD sets (at least) are available through
retail chains instead of just through the ephemeral "Store."

Heh. Just happens that the store called me today and I got the man who I
was talking to to say very little. I told him that I didn't have any money
at the moment, but if I did, I would buy the Peter Wingfield tape. I
complained to him how it's mis-advertising in the catalogue that the tape is
not being sold alone, and how it is on the website. He wasn't aware of
this, either. *L* Either I got him over with my words, or he was a bad
telemarketer. Whatever it was, I had a rather enjoyable time talking to him
and it was the best call with the store that I've ever had. *L*

I suppose <g>. They just looked so darned ridiculous.

Overall, a decent ep IMHO, though I'm not sure what to
make of the magic seeing as how HL usually sticks
pretty close to reality. Made me think of Forever
Knight and Nick and company's hypnotic abilities.
The one glaring error I thought I saw was Cassandra
saving Duncan early on. What happened to 'Only one
Immortal may challenge another at at a time and no
other Immortal can interfere in the battle?'
Kantos...Mean all the way through. And no respect,
either. He really made me not like him when he tore up
Duncan's picture. Maybe a bit dumb though. Did he
really think Duncan wasn't gonna get that key when he
dropped it there? I saw it coming when he first held
it up in the air. "Oh, geez, do you really think
putting it there is gonna keep him from getting it?"
This was my first experience of Cassandra, and I don't
have a lot to say on her, but I do think that it's her
history with Methos that is in part what makes him
interesting. We learn from her (and Methos himself)
that he's capable of being a total monster, cold
heartedly killing without remorse (at least at the
time...now, who knows?)and brutally torturing
Cassandra to death over and over, and yet he's also
capable of being loving, kind and compassionate when
he wants to be, a la Timeless. Can we say "Complex" or
"Multilayered"? I guess it all depends on the
situation and which Methos he lets out to play so to
speak.
Back to the ep itself, not anything outstanding, and a
couple things I didn't like, but all in all not too
bad. Hm....Somewhere between a C and a B- maybe? Or am
I wrong?
Mel

Thank you, Ruth. And I agree totally with your assessment. It *is*
so "open" and personal. Peter generously (as always) draws us into
his life, dreams, thoughts, hopes...and human-ness. I actually
felt his "ouchies" as he tries to hit as few stones/rocks as possible
in his endearingly awkward quick barefoot dance back to the soft=20
green grass and his (probably) very *amused* Edan. (Daddy *did*
look pretty silly!)
LATEST NEWS FROM HIGHLANDER STORE CUSTOMER SERVICE LADY:
This morning (Thurs., 8/14), the C.S. Manager actually did what she
said she would do--she inquired about selling fans Peter's video
WITHOUT the $400 Ivanhoe (for $19.95 + s/h) and Peter Davis told
her: "YES!" =20
She said: "Mr. Davis said we were cleared to sell the video without
the sword like it shows at the online site. We also have Christopher
Lambert's CD-ROM for sale alone for the same price of $19.95. So
go ahead and tell everyone to order them!" <heh heh heh>
So now's the time to dial that toll free number -- and if the usually
clueless salespersons don't know what you're talking about or say it
can't be done--call the number I gave yesterday and ask for the=20
C.S. Manager lady -- and order it through her (I've done it that way
for years). And as Ruth said: "BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT!!!"
WOW! My phone just rang while I was typing the above (7pm ET) and
it was "Connie" the CS Manager asking if I got her long message on
my machine this morning, and telling me that "I've sent 20 email
copies to all our sales reps telling them they are to sell the Peter
Wingfield/Methos video for $19.95 and the Christopher Lambert CD-ROM
for the same price, too. And, we actually have pretty good quantities
of both, so tell everyone to order soon!"
"Connie" went on to ask if I had ever seen Mr. Wingfield in QUEEN OF
SWORDS -- which she said she really enjoyed, we chatted about that
enthusiastically for a bit, then she told me (chuckles) "and did you
know that Valentine Pelka was in that, too?" I assured her that:=20
"Ohm we all love Valentine, too" and that we pretty much have tapes
of everything Peter's ever done and some of Val's work as well. :-D
TCBO2 <gotta order CL's CD-ROM now before they run out> <heh heh heh>
