Subject: Season 2 "lost scenes"?
On the packaging for the Season 2 dvd sets it mentions `lost scenes'
as one of the features. I didn't see anything that said where
said scenes are though. Has anyone actually found them, if so
where are they? My guess is they may just be on certain discs
and only mentioned in the onscreen menu for those episodes but
it would be nice to actually know. I'd like to watch those scenes
first, but it would be nice to not have to load each disc and
look at the menus to find which have it. The ones I've looked at
so far didn't mention anything. (Or are they like some of the
Andromeda sets where the packaging mentioned extra features that
weren't actually on the sets because things had changed between
when the packaging was printed and the discs created?)

I purchased my Season 2 DVD last week at Best Buy store in San Luis Obispo, CA. Yes, it features the so-called "Bonus Material."
Also, my Season 2 DVD box also had a cheesy medallion on the spine as well. Anyone else?

Now that the Anchor Bay Season 2 box sets are out, has anyone
actually gotten the ones from Best Buy that have the extra
interivew? The set I ordered from BB showed up yesterday but
judging by the packaging it does seem to have it. From what I've
read elsewhere those sets have a black band that says something
about `exclusive bonus interivew' or something like that. So
if anyone did get it, is it on a separate disc or one of the
existing ones? And how long is it/is it anything all that
notworthy. All I've heard is that it's an interview with AP, AV
and SK. I'm trying to decide if it's worth trying to hunt down
a copy or just stick with what I got. I went to two BB stores
in an attempt exchange mine for one of those. One only had the
same as the set I got and the other didn't have any at all.
If any of you have found the bounus one in the general Mass/
southern NewHampshire area, which BB store did you find it?

>From what I've read, the top of the outer box w/ the bonus material says--
"Exclusive Bonus Material
Interviews with Adrian Paul, Stan Kirsch, and Alexandra Vandernoot."
And disk #4 itself says (in addition to listing 3 eps)--
"Interviews with Adrian Paul, Stan Kirsch, and Alexandra Vandernoot."
Also, from what I've read, this bonus version is ONLY available at Best Buy
STORES; the BestBuy.com sets are all the plain ones like you get from the HL
Store (IF you get anything at all from them other than a major headache),
Deep Discount.com, Borders, Amazon.com, etc. Best Buy commissioned & paid
for the bonus material/interviews, but they are only selling the bonus set
versions through their walk-in stores & NOT online.
It would have been nice to know that earlier, before so many people who
wanted S2 DVD sets pre-ordered them online (& now are stuck w/ an inferior
product). Here's a thought--DPP could have been the ones to step up & get
the extra material done, for all their loyal fans, so that the DVD sets are
something more than space-savers, compared to all the VHS sets we bought
from them.
Just another example of Highlander merchandising insanity.

I finally got to see the SW/Deliverance story
arc....whoa. Good acting and though I like good Duncan
better, I enjoyed ED. AP does evil quite well.
I've seen the hayota concept before on Forever
Knight's "Blackwing" but what was said there is that
they were supposed to put the evil into something
else, like a river or an animal or a tree...wonder
which one's right.
When Mac trashed the barge what was all that "nothing!
nothing!"? I don't know what he meant there.

Since there's no such thing as an immortal or a vampire, could either of
them really be right?
Also I'm guessing that since the hayoka in the HL ep was an immortal -- and
immortals take the essence of other immortals into themselves -- that would
be the reason this hayoka took the evil into himself as opposed to putting
it into something else.
Just guessing here, cuz I had never heard of a hayoka until I saw that HL
episode.

I don't remember that. Maybe I should start watching these eps on TNT.

Could be. And they never actually said what it was
called in FK BTW. I didn't really know anything until
the HL ep.

No, it's not airing, it's on my tapes if I can find
it. I was away at camp for ten days but I programmed
the VCR and mom made sure it taped for me. Though SW
had a few glitches in the channel and she missed ten
minutes of one ep.

I found a Best Buy store today that had that version so I was able
to exchange mine. For anyone who's curious the interview section
seems to be roughly 40 minutes.
Also, from what I've read, this bonus version is ONLY available at
Best Buy STORES;
And from what I've seen it's not all BB stores since the first one
I went to had the regular non extra feature version.

He meant that none of it meant anything to him....he was looking for
a tangible contact to his former self and nothing in the barge
provided it.

Nothing *meant* anything to him? He was looking for some
kind of emotional reaction from his surroundings and
nothing was *speaking* to him?

As always, some of my favorite/least favorite episodes. The acting is good. The scenery nice. But...oh!!!!!!! ..the concepts! Hayokas? Dark Quickenings? Holy Springs? :::::shudder::::::::::::::::::
>I've seen the hayota concept before on Forever
>Knight's "Blackwing" but what was said there is that
>they were supposed to put the evil into something

Of course putting the evil into a tree or river or animal doesn't make much sense either. What do you get but evil trees, evil rivers, and evil animals?
I still struggle to accept the notion of *actually* taking evil into one's self. I can certainly accept the figurative aspects - good psychotherapy for the patient. But since when is "evil" a "thing" that can be "taken" anywhere? And can evil be additive? Or is evil just evil? Do two evils make you *more* evil? Do two evils plus two good make you neutral? (Methos seems to suggest that to Duncan by stressing Sean Burn's presence in Duncan.)
Or is it *all* a mind game? Take it seriously and you turn bad after killing a bad guy, don't take it seriously and go on your way unaffected? Is that why there is more talk of Dark Quickenings than Light ones? Because it is easier to believe that you'll turn evil than to believe you'll turn good? Was Darius just strangely susceptible to the notion of instant reversals? Or was he already thinking about hanging up his shield and killing the holy man outside Paris just pushed him into the final decision?
One of my favorite scenes is the one with Methos and Duncan in the church when Duncan swings at Methos. I don't know how the writers intended the line to be read but Peter's rendition of "No matter what evil is inside you, *you* *cannot* *do* *this*" is interesting. In the first place, he looks scared. Not just startled but actually afraid. If killing on HG is so impossible, why be scared? The way he says the line says to me that killing on HG *is* possible but that Duncan MacLeod couldn't possibly do it, no matter what. he's calling on Duncan's image of himself to stay his hand. I admit I sort of wanted to see Duncan whack him- just to prove it could be done. (I'd have missed Methos but the screams from the fandom would have been worth it)

Subject: Promises and a few more SW/D comments
Not much to say on today's ep but I thought Duncan and
Rachel played well off each other. I liked the playful
scene in the beginning where he was carrying her.
Might eventually expand on some writing ideas I got
from it.
My main comment is: darn TNN! Twice they ran the DVD
ads and both times they chopped off the end. I thought
it was a tape error and they were old VHS tape ads but
then I caught briefly the DVD part. But I never got to
see the end. Good commercial though. But maybe it was
just because of the song LOL.
On SW/D, I'm inclined to agree about the spring. HL
usually kept pretty close to reality despite the Immie
stuff and it was usually believable, but here and in
the whole AAA arc, they went more supernatural on us.
(*whispers "river denial! river denial!"*)I wonder if
it was a ratings thing. Pardon me for going back to it
again, but FK also did that. It was about vamps, but
they tried to give an explanation as to how it
could've had scientific basis with that vampire virus
thingy and all that...but come season 3 and the
sagging ratings, they went more supernatural, not that
it worked.
Some of you said you thought the DQ was just a myth.
Just out of curiosity, what's your take on why he went
evil in that case?
