I've always liked Leonard Nimoy. :)
Did you ever read that tale of Joan Winston's about when she visited
the set during "Turnabout Intruder", and William Shatner forgot his
lines, and instead said, "Spock, Spock, it's always been you. Say
you love me, too."? (Which book was that? "Star Trek Lives"? There's
a discussion of fanfic in that one - complete with quotes from
various fan stories - if memory serves.)

I have adandoned my search for reality and am now looking for a good

Don't have access to the book at this moment, but I'm guessing it's in the chapter named "Beauty May Be Only Skin Deep, But Chopped Liver Can Get You Anywhere or Six Glorious Days on the Star Trek Set."

<ggl> Nice one, Marina.

I've heard about the slashy Dueniverse subtext but
didn't know that about PG. How about CKR? (Callum
Keith Rennie for the uninitiated)? DS also, btw, has a
small femslash (female slash) following but I don't
know anything about it since I don't read or write
slash. (I picked up most of my info from discussions
on other mailing lists that are open to all genres)
I've also heard rumors of so-called slashy subtext in
the Forever Knight universe, but haven't seen it
myself....I know there's a couple other FK fans on
here....you notice any?
Mel, who doesn't like the idea of Nick and LaCroix
togther (and who's hoping no members of the Unnamed
Faction heard that LOL)

I see this ep is showing today on TNN - I always liked Cierdwyn. And
we've had the 'Methos' episode now too....
Did those that hadn't seen it like it? Or is there anyone here who
hadn't seen "Methos" yet?

The analogy is interesting, but you forgot the part where Mr. Kefups and his family make an income from the garden... tours, pictures, "How-To" books, perhaps a TV program or video series.
Oh, another distinction... you *did* specify play, at least. You'd need permission to use his garden as a backdrop for any commercial ventures...
So, what happens if you and your playmates see a piece of Mr. Kefups' work and realize that it might include some of your own frolicking in his yard? Just to stick with the analogy, perhaps his award-winning photographs include what appears to be a floral-arrangement modification you made with his flowering vines on a lazy summer day. Or you and your friends think a popular bit of footage of people dancing in the sprinklers in the background in one of his programs could be you, or at the very least, based on your own identical experiences in his garden a few months ago.
So here's where the analogy leads us to a bind, both in the world of the garden and fanfic. Could someone "playing in the sandbox" (sandbox = Mr. Kefups garden and the HL Universe) in either reality try to lay claim to what appears to be their own work if the sandbox's owner produces something substantially similar? The threat of legal actions from people "playing" is certainly possible. There are always stories of people claiming to have originally written songs or scripts that have become famous or profitable, looking for credit and, typically, financial renumeration.
Mr. Kefups (and the Highlander site) may admit and allow you access, but in a very real sense, they're absolutely ignoring your play. It would be of paramount importance to do so in the legalities of protecting themselves from fanfic writers. It would be a shame for a truly phenomenal Highlander script to be stuck in legal limbo because some fanfic writer claimed to have originally created some part of it.
-Rob (Maybe that's already happened) (Therefore, you could choose to blame the scripts of Highlander 2, 3, and 4 solely on fanfic writers)

*raises hand* Over here. I think I'm going to like
him. But I did think that the whole suicidal Methos
"Please take my head" thing sounded an awful lot like
suicidal Connor in Endgame. Wonder if that's where it
came from.
TBTN-Interesting ep...I don't think female warriors
were all that common back then. And gotta love the
shirtless scene.
I wonder how Richie really did sneak all the way
across town like that...What do they do with a dead
person's clothes after they take them off in the
morgue anyway?
