Yep, they should have, but then, they never listen to us.

And am I in the minority here because I don't think the fourth movie was
awful? Far from perfect, yes. But awful...no. I actually liked it. Made
we wince a few times. But I still liked it.

      Hi
I mentioned here that I had an article sort of about Highlander published in
Fortean Times 167. well theres a letter in FT171 in response to my article
thats kinda worrying... Immortals are supposed to be fictional... newbie
Immortals shouldnt be finding out what they are from my article...

True. Almost all fanfic is posted to a large number of very active lists.
All of the fic lists, esp. the slashfic ones, are Alive & Well and going strong.
Their are several Archivists now, the major one for Highlander fiction of
      all types being:

      The Seventh Dimension: http://www.seventh-dimension.org/index.html
There are many others and Highlander fiction comes pouring out in ever-
increasing excellence and volume from over 50 well-known writers and
a variety of serious, newer writers.

<<A quick look through the last months HIGHLA-L shows mostly
off topic posts, with some talk of the repeats running on cable.>>

Not to mention the fact that this list has always been the home for a
particularly nasty poster who has delighted in destroying the enjoyment
we all once had (when there were nearly 2200 members of HIGHLA-L)
and causing massive migration away to more carefully monitored, yet
also friendlier, "safer" lists to post discussions of Highlander, its stars,
and ongoing issues and careers of said stars. I've been on HIGHLA-L
since 1996 and have quietly watched a handful of sharp-tongued,
self-designated "geezers" and one relative "PORA" who is living in
a State whose motto is to "Live Aloha" (meaning love & friendship
and helping), but is infamous for her toxic, hurtful, vicious posts.

to put a stop to Nasty N--a, The Toxic Destroyer of HIGHLA-L, but as
you indicate, Debbie's interest "is nowhere to be found."]

<<So are the lists, and Highlander interest in general pretty much gone>>

Again, "Highlander interest" is THRIVING for those of us who have been
online with HL, PW, DM, et al., for so many years. Of interest to me in
the posts replying to your own today, several people either have never
even SEEN HL:TS and/or don't even know two of the other longtime
staples *other than* the yahoogroups lists, that is:

      1) Holyground Forum: http://www.holygroundforum.net/cgi-bin/forum/forum.cgi

      and:

      2) the HL Newsgroup which is accessed by most of us through our primary
email client, Outlook Express, Outlook, Eurdora, etc. Every email program
that comes bundled with Microsoft's OS and Internet Explorer Browser or
Netscape Navigator ALSO has a NEWS SERVER function that allows one to
subscribe to any of the 1,000's of newsgroups instantly available.

              how to use/access Newsgroups.)

      <<It was a good run tho wasn't it :) >>

Yes, it was, Adam. For a good long while. Then, it got nasty and miserable
      . . . and d e s e r t e d . . . .

Happy days ahead for you, Adam. Go smiling for the fun you gave us once
upon a time. Thank you. It *is* time to put to bed, permanently, both

Me, too. But I've found that simply not reading posts from the toxic sorts
makes life much easier. They obviously so desperately *want* attention and
they are obviously so completely bankrupt of creativity so the only way the
can *get* any attention is by being nasty. They are naughty little children.
They need a spanking but it isn't our place to give it to them since they are
      apparently dysfunctional adults.

And you're right about there being many other places that *are* still
hopping. The Holyground Forum is always talking about the show and the actors
as well as going off-topic *and* there is fiction posted there on a weekly
      basis from very talented writers.

Sorry all but I *know* I will get an answer from somebody here in order to
satisfy my curiosity. Why is Tilque from Stargate on Andromeda? Supposing
it's not him, geez can you say "typecast"? :)

I haven't watched anything religiously since HL (except Angel and I even miss
that once in awhile.) :) :)

It's probably my luck these have already been
mentioned, but I'll post them anyway on the off chance
      they haven't.

I heard that Adrian sometimes puts what looks like
Highlander nods into some of his other work. There was
talk on one of the AP lists that in one of his films,
I think Code Hunter, but I'm not positive, he ends up
in one scene wielding a sword and then there's what I
      guess you'd call a pseudo-Quickening. Anyone know
      which film I mean?

And in the Tracker ep 'To Catch a Dessarian', there's
a scene where Cole gets locked in an art museum
storage room by a fugitive. When he can't open the
lock with his Cirronian energy, he freezes the lock
with liquid nitrogen, then whacks it with a katana.
But I don't think it had a dragonhead on it LOL. I
can't watch it without thinking things like 'go Duncan
go Duncan' or 'MacLeod rides again...sort of.'
Actually, it seems to me they do have a few things in
common. They both fight the bad guys and they both
take life forces. Duncan absorbs them with his body
and Cole has his handy little collector. (I'm probably
in the minority...I really liked Tracker and was upset
      to see it taken off.)

You know you're watching too much HL when you're
watching BtVS (it was just to see Angel...I watch his
show all the time but only watch Buffy if he's on) and
can't figure out why the Watchers are doing so much
stuff besides observing and recording. I actually
always have thought a crossover fic between those two
universes would be interesting and I know there is at
least one out there and a pretty good one at that.

Mel, who'd like to do a Tracker/HL cross and is
struggling presently with a HL/FK cross.
