      and I still say he was playing to his audience - by that time
      he'd already heard the fannish opinions.  The man has a
      wicked sense of humour and seems totally confident in his

      When you've lived 5,000 years and look forward to living
      another 5,000, the idea of having a _friend_ who will still
      be around with you must be very appealing.  No wonder
      he was always on Duncan's case to try and make him
      *act sensibly* and indulge in fewer ...... death wish...
