Nina, your post is the stuff of nightmares. <g>

Just Cause had a story by David Abramowitz.

The Native American actor who was in Last of the Mohicans and
also Mountain Men was on Mystery last night in a Robert Redford
production called "Skinwalkers". Odd - the first time I heard
that term was earlier this week on Smallville.

It seems to me that there was either another familiar face in
Just Cause, or in some other show this week. Can't remember -
      turkey-based amnesia, I guess.

Can I just say that I find even the idea of a Highlander show on Broadway to
be ... unreal. I KNOW!!! This is an alternate reality! It's the only
explanation that makes sense. Can't you just see Duncan in his kilt

Let's see ... similarities between Methos and Darius:
      1. They were both immortal
      2. They were both men.
      3. They were both very old.
      4. They were both evil and changed.

It would be hard to be both very old and recently slain. Actually, I think
number 4 is the only one with any significance. Unless DPP has come up with
some other strange twisted idea that I cannot wrap my brain around.

One wonders what this new type of immortal is? What is their very cool
      function?

Let me guess ... they don't die if you cut off their head and put it back on
really fast? They don't die unless yout cut out their heart and eat it????
They lose their immortality if you cut their hair? They have directional
      immortal radar???

      The mind boggles.

Yes, you can say that. I hope that enough people say it w/in BP's earshot
that the whole thing is squashed like a big greasy cockroach. Of course,
it's the money thing that will decide it; SURELY, no one will be idiotic
enough to invest in this. (But, if HL5 has a shot, anything's possible.)

I think it's the idea of Methos _mentoring_ Immie students that bothers me.
He's just NOT the teachy type. Though I'm sure he taught Cassie all SORTS
of highly useful positions/techniques/cooking recipes way back when....

Maybe they're invisible, a la ST's cloaking device. Hey--that way TPTB can
SAY Duncan, Methos, Amanda, etc. BECAME Cloakers somehow (possibly from
eating bad clams) & are now running around doing stuff that the new (& still
visible) Immies have to counter in the new series--no need for AP, PW, EG or
anyone else we know to be desperate enough actually to BE in the cast. But,
still no more Richie--no one would buy an invisible HEADLESS Cloaker....

Cloaking would be easy enough: they could just hide within their own katana space. (Would you expect a better explanation? From DPP? Quit dreaming!) Their "special purpose", er, special function could be to tell other Immortals all about The Game - which is why we've never heard of them before... they're doing a really REALLY bad job.

Maybe they walk around with demolition gear and lightning guns, waiting desperately to see someone get lopped so they can do the ole zap and boom?

-SenseiRob@aol.com (Hey, maybe they goose Immortals, blow in their ears and whisper "Buzz!" whenever another Immortal comes by?)

Well, it's so OBVIOUS now! Cloakers are the Immie clean-up crew--they
remove the headless bodies before the dim-witted legal authorities of the HL
universe notice them. Cloaker Immies carry around magic shroud thingees
that they toss over scattered body parts, & everything just disappears. No
wonder so few head-chopping Immies run afoul of the law!

Nina (This can't be a plum assignment. On call & skulking around alleys,
abandoned warehouses, & seedy locations all hours of the day & night; plus,
the gore. Wonder what a regular Immie has to do to be condemned to Cloaker
detail? It's not a novice training thing, as Richie didn't do it. It can't
be punishment for crimes against humanity, since Methos seems to have
retained non-Cloakerness for eons. Ditto for it not being how really old
Immies are set out to pasture. Immies w/ loose lips about the big I?
Nah--DM blabbed to mortals. Fashion faux pas? Amanda seems to have avoided
      the duty. Hmmm....)
