I tend to agree with Sandy. Adian did an excellent job of maintaining his
role as Duncan MacLoed in H5. The only character that was significantly
different was that of Connor's.

Nope. Why should I? HL 1 had its moments, but it is deeply flawed--much
like Endgame. With DPP now claiming that HL5 was launched by Endgame's
success, it is clear that the continuation of the HL franchise is based on
something other than excellence, decent story-telling, or anything a sane
person would call "success." It seems likely to me that it has been that
way all along.

Is it possible to submit a screenplay or script to DPP? or even a =
screenplay idea? I'm sure they may already get a lot of garbage from us =
anyway, but have they ever used fan ideas before? Because, and I wouldnt =
be offended if nobody took me seriously, I have a really good idea, and =
I'd like to share it, but I'm not sure whether or not it would even be =
looked at. Especially with a lot of other fan fiction floating around =
out there. ;)

Seems like *they'd* decided against a second season before the first
season even aired.
it was every bit as good as the first season of Highlander - better
even in some respects.

True.
Wrytchie's horrible green jacket was absolutely nowhere to be seen.

Jen (Basil was cool)(so was Liam)(and the housekeeper--I misremember her
name)(the rest of it was...well...not quite as impressive)(but better

Having never gotten the opportunity to see Raven, I am unable to comment.
However, as far as Elizabeth Gracen goes, I did get to see her in two
episodes of another series from the early 90's: RENEGADE. She played a
bounty the main characters were chasing, supposedly wanted for industrial
espianaje. She was quite interesting as blond bombshell Ricki Yeager, but
once I saw Highlander and the character of Amanda some aspects were quite
clearly visible. Example: Amanda's attitude matched almost perfectly save
for a few minor quorks that of the female con on the run she'd played.
Amanda's quick wit was apparent, but unlike Amanda Elizabeth's other brief
role conveyed vary strongly, a quality of innocence. Amanda, to me appears
to have this daredevilish attitude, combined with slight hints of seduction,
quick wit, charm, and absolutely no innocence whatsoever. Though I'm sure if
she wanted to bad enough, she could make one believe her to be innocent of
*almost* anything.

I don't know if DPP has used fan ideas before, but the
general policy in Hollywood is that if it's
unsolicited (ie, no one asked for it), nobody will
even look at your idea, unless possibly you're an
established writer. It's a shame -- I agree that a
lot of the fan fiction out there is much better than
some of the ideas Panzer & (co-conspirator of the
week) have come up with for film stories; a good
screenplay by a very skilled & experienced writer may
be all the stories need to turn HL around.

There are legal issues involved. If they even look at your
stuff, then if they happen to come up with an idea that has even
a smidgen of commonality, they risk plagerism lawsuits.
I don't think that stealing ideas telepathically counts. <g>

I disagree. Most f*nf*c seems to revolve around a single idea
(such as: Ritchie Survives) and would make a very flat story.
Other f*nf*c is impossible to put on screen (cast of millions;
destruction of the world, Duncan and [insert name of babe of the
week] go at it hot and heavy, any of the "brutal Methos" stories
that surfaced after Horsemen, crossovers. F*nf*c provides
stories about pieces of the universe that many would like to see
but won't.

I don't know as I'd go quite that far but I would say that TPTB didn't seem know what Raven was suppose to be about or where it should be headed. They rushed certain aspects - perhaps because they didn't expect a second season or perhaps because they didn't trust viewers to stick with Raven if it meant "working" (ie: actually paying attention and following continuing plot threads<g>). And ... they couldn't decide it Raven was light comedy/action or action/drama.
I think they paired up Nick and Amanda way too soon. I'd have liked to see 10-12 episodes where they were mostly adversarial with only a slow dawning that they were (or could be) on the same side of some things - and even then it should have taken a long time before they were comfortable together. I'd have liked to see them face a powerful physical attraction while still "enemies". I'd have like to see Amanda struggle much more with the choice between her 1200 year habits and her attraction to a man who didn't find her thieving ways at all "cute". I'd have like to see Nick face a long time trying to adjust to not being a cop - the PI work came too fast and too easy.
But then, I'm often willing to give series more than 2 weeks to prove themselves...especially if I have some expectation that TPTB can pull off great TV if given a chance. (Which is why I am still watching "Firefly" and hoping it doesn't get cancelled after 14 episodes)

I'd say the acting was better, overall, than Season One of HL. I don't think the writing was better.

Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics to
Highlander 2 Renegade Version's 'One Dream' song, the
end title song?
What are the titles of the series soundtracks?
CDnow.com has some Highlander CD's but I want to be
sure I get the right ones.
Can someone help the newbie out with a series
question: What's the Magic Circle? (I have got to
order myself some tapes...already have someone who
will do them for me...I need more Highlander LOL)

Fox just ordered another three episodes, which isn't as great as picking up the
back nine -- but it beats being told to close up shop in ep 13. I do think the
show's getting better each week. I *loved* "Our Mrs. Reynolds" enjoyed the hell
out of "Out of Gas", and thought "Jaynestown" was very good, just not quite as
much to my taste as the other two.

I agree -- which is why I haven't shelled out the bucks for the DVDs. I've got
the boxed set of VHS tapes; that's all I need of season one, really. And I only
bought them in the first place in the interests of completion.

You have to scroll down a little way to find them.
