I'm actually glad I didn't watch it originally. I think I would have
been swept up into the Lists's ideas (not that this is necessarily
always a bad thing) and not been able to make up my own mind about
      it.

No, I mean I'm able to enjoy each ep for itself because I don't
know the teeny tiny details of each one since I haven't read
episode spoilers. I knew Nick became Immortal because during its
first run on Sci-Fi I changed the channel over to Sci-Fi just as
Nick was doing his "what chance is there for love if there can be
only one" speech, and Wendy hasn't exactly been quiet about
complaining about the lack of headboard rattling!

So I'll ask you as well, just out of interest. Does Voyager suck
      or do you like it?

I don't think I agree with that. Amanda is in how many eps of HL:TS?
Ten? That isn't a lot. (Feel free to correct me.) I don't think we can
say that Duncan has been her biggest support. No question she loves him
but that's not the issue. And I think (feel free to correct me, Nina,
which I know you will anyway) that some of us need to stop blaming
poor Nick for not being Duncan.

      >(Maybe if Nick had been filthy rich)

      Yeah, maybe. :)

There are a number of you on this list that do not visit the Holyground
Forum or SCI FI BB, so I am posting this to let you know that I have a
Montage web page and have created several Highlander montages that some of
you might be interested in seeing. You can tell the ones I did first from
the ones done later (he. he. he.) Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pics. If
anyone would like one done for them, let me know.

Really? I've always thought this list was pretty well chock-full of
opinionated people more likely to take a contrary view for the fun of it
than to fall into step. Not that that's a bad thing, of course.

      > No, I mean I'm able to enjoy each ep for itself because I don't

OK. I just recall being very disappointed in the dearth of details in
Raven. It was painted w/ a big brush--a big messy roller, even--as opposed
to lovingly careful strokes like that other show.

      > So I'll ask you as well, just out of interest. Does Voyager suck
      > or do you like it?

90% of the time it sucks. I keep reminding myself this is the last season &
I really should watch it, but....

      me before--

Amanda was in 18 series eps (3 less than Methos). [HL trivia briefly raises
its head, then flops back down into its coma.]

      > I don't think we can
      > say that Duncan has been her biggest support. No question she loves him
      > but that's not the issue.

She loves DM way more than he loves her, which I think IS sort of the issue
re: Nick. But one problem I had w/ Raven was that the Amanda we got to know
pretty well in 18 HL:TS eps wouldn't have even noticed Nick Wolfe. (She
also wouldn't have tied herself to the mortal Lucy.) In the series, we saw
Amanda in several times, places & circumstances, yet she was always the
same--thieving & conniving; footloose & carefree; adorable & sexy; brazen
yet insecure; infuriating & contrary; flighty & reckless; & irredeemably in
love w/ DM, constantly running from facing that fact, yet always being
pulled back to him. Raven-Amanda was someone else entirely, & I couldn't
help but notice. She was also far more harsh & brittle than series-Amanda,
who know how to make a quip w/o sounding like it needed a laugh track.
Raven-Amanda tried so very hard, & it showed.

      > some of us need to stop blaming
      > poor Nick for not being Duncan.

I blame Nick for not being interesting on his own. He went around w/ this
huge chip on his shoulder, dourly judgmental & controlling, constantly
bitching at Amanda, right through the end when he complained about being
alive. He had all the charm of a rotting fish. And bad hair in most eps.
Series-Amanda would have dropped him immediately & moved on to someone w/
the word "fun" in his vocabulary, even if he wasn't DM.

But I'm glad you are enjoying Raven. I'm certainly enjoying Wendy's heroic
efforts to bring us the Euros. Raven had its moments (usually in the tag
scenes--Raven did nice tags). Some sex would have helped; as it was, they
may as well have set the show in a nunnery, w/ Amanda having retreated to HG
& donned the veil to avoid some nasty Immie w/ a grudge. Nick could have
been the disillusioned priest & scowled about that. They could have teamed
up to sneak out in civvies & have madcap capers while helping people....

I wrote a note to myself indicating The Methos Chronicles--animated net
thingee--was to debut the week of 3-12. That seems to have come & gone.
Was there a delay, or was the result so egregiously bad that no one even
whimpered about it here or elsewhere I'm subbed?

Nope. The Chronicles are up. They currently have a preview and the first ep
up. But be warned. The animation is not all that great and depending on what
kind of modem you have the sound quality isn't that great (It's better on
the cable modems I noticed, over the phone ones anyways). Other than that
it's good to hear Pete's voice again:).
