Ah sure and he doesn't look a day over...........42 :)
I will lift a cup of grog in his honor. I will always cherish the day I found
Duncan MacLeod, he brought a lot of joy into my life. Still does :)

I'm probably off on this, but I think the music you're thinking
of is the song "Bonny Portmore" which was sung by
Laura Creamer (?) in the Highlander 3 movie and later in
the HL episode "Homecoming." Lorena McKennitt has also
done "Bonny Portmore" in her album "The Visit," but I don't
recall any of her music being used in Highlander.

Actually it was Loreena McKennitt's version that was featured in HL3
(and listed in the credits), and Laura Creamer sang for the version
use on the HL ep 'Homecoming' because McKennitt was unavailable,
either due to cost or schedule. Creamer's version is very close to
McKennitt's. People often confuse who did what version.

Her music was only used in "Highlander 3". The song was
"Bonny Portmore", from the album "The Visit". There's
also an instrumental bit from her another of her albums,
"The Mask and Mirror" as well.

The song versions of "Bonny Portmore" used in the HL TV show
and in HL 4 were not by Loreena McKennitt. "Bonny Portmore"
is a traditional song and so anyone can use it.

      - Marina, who wants to say that Loreena McKennitt is
brilliant. Get all her albums - they're worth it! I've
been collecting her albums since the first one ("Elemental",
      a wonderful album!)

think) someone from this list went back and figured it out. <<

A lot of people think this and calculate it back to make this work. But in
Scotland until very recently 21st of Dec has always been regarded as the
solstice sorry but it's just a cultural thing. It's only in the last 10
maybe 20 years that people have begun to realise that the solstice may not
fall on the 21st on the month.

I was born on the first day of spring 21st of March, but it seems that many
people regard 22nd of March as the first day of spring. Doesn't make that
      much difference.

      >> I will argue it till my dying breath. Or I leave the list. Don't count
      on it...<<

Well since he is a fictional character you can believe his birthday is any
day you choose, so don't let anyone put you off enjoying it. We never let
the truth about Scotland interfere in the Highlander myth most of the time
      so why now.<EG>

      LOL!!!! I know - I'm hopeless....and to think that I was once a teacher
of English who actually knew how to spell. But you know I've decided
that it was a subliminal mistake and that at a deep level (I was going
to type subconscious but wasn't sure of the spelling!) I really really
*liked* the image of Duncan at the reins - leading his global clan on to
further Highlander adventures....of course the image of Duncan tied up
in leather never one occurred to me...honest....

It's a wonderful time of year. Here in Australia it is very hot as the
entire continent prepares for its annual five week party of barbeques,
yacht racing, cricket tests, - and lots of family fun.

Like all of you I'm looking forward to the first season of Highlander on
      DVD...

Have a wonderful and safe Christmas season everyone.

      Kind regards
