I had the impression that early press releases mentioned Vancouver, where
Lions Gate Studios are located and where Adrian Paul's TV movie The Void was
also filmed. I could be wrong, of course and since I can't find the article,
      I certainly may be. :)

Less likely that Australia is going to be a filming site if they are hoping
for tax breaks. The Aussie gov't has just changed legislation disallowing
tax breaks on bank loans taken out for residual financing. Moulin Rouge
producers may not get the breaks they've been expecting.

Managed to find the article in which Vancouver was mentioned as a
possibility for site of filming Tracker. I read so much stuff I sometimes
get confused but eventually the info comes floating to the surface. :)

      (stuff snipped)

      LGT brings Tracker to T.O.

In a move to avoid the Teamsters, Lions Gate Television has chosen
Toronto over Vancouver to shoot its latest outer-worldly series Tracker.

Going to camera July 19, the 22-part, one-hour series starring Adrian Paul
(Highlander), follows the adventures of an intergalactic bounty hunter and
his earthly female sidekick. The duo track down hundreds of escaped
convicts from outer space who have been transported to Chicago, where
they traffic in every kind of criminal activity imaginable.

Gil Grant (Relic Hunter) is the series' show-runner and executive producer.

Broadcast rights to the series, budgeted at roughly $1.3 million an episode,
are in the process of being sold to Citytv.

Ira Bernstein, a former Rysher Entertainment exec, is distributing the
      series
domestically through his company Mercury Entertainment, based out of
New York. Since Lions Gate closed its doors in its fledgling New York
office earlier this year, Bernstein is the company's sole New York
      contingent.

LGT is producing and has international rights.

      >I haven't been keep up with Tracker news. Are these regular characters?

Yes..."Mel" is the Dr. Anne character and "Zin" is Horton ..or maybe Kalas.<eg>

      OK...maybe not.

"Mel" is the female lead..the Earth woman who helps AP's character (I think he is called "Daggon" ) ...finds him, shelters him, helps him track bad guys, comes to lust after his magnificent alien enhanced body...you know the drill. There will, of course, be much UST ..they'll probably end the season with a kiss just before she is kidnapped by Zin in the cliffhanger ending<eg>

Zin is the evil alien genius overlord master criminal mad scientist (if he was played by an Asian actor he could be a dead ringer for Emperor Ming from Flash Gordon) ....always one step ahead of Daggon...Moriarty to Daggon's Holmes.

I'm looking forward to this (heaven help me) ..assuming a station in DC deigns to buy it.

Wendy(If nothing else it's 22 more excuses to look at AP )(And at the very least it will be good for laughs.)(Hopefully it will be good for more than that.)

I know. They cancelled the original listing because they said I should
have put it in the adult area. So I put it there last night, and the url I
gave is the new one for the listing in the "mature audiences" area.

I can't find much info on this actress. Like--how old is she? The couple
pix I've seen LOOK very young, though they may not be all that recent. I
just hope she isn't so young that AP could be her father--that's so
unappealing in the USTy area. I was hoping they'd cast a 30ish actress as
Mel, but AFP seems very early 20's, as far as I can tell.

After the QoS fiasco, I was also hoping for an actress w/ some real
professional experience & decent credits. Mel is not the lead here, but
still. AFP's credits are rather lacking; they certainly don't scream out to
me that she's perfect for this very contemporary role.

Nina (Canada HAS no 30ish actresses w/ experience, willing to "relax" in the
      glow of AP's exciting energy???)

      It's in the adult section.

Use this url. You'll get a page that makes you sign in and swear that
you're an adult. Once you click the "authorize" button at the bottom,
it'll take you to another page. Then type in this url *again* and it will
      take you to the item.

eBay makes it extremely difficult to sell adult items.

Actually she is 28 and I think that's a great age for an AP leading lady. I
too had feared a teeny bopper approach to casting a female lead. Her acting
reviews have been superb. [someone posted a review of her Little Men role on
the Holyground forum last week] I have great hope.
