There is nothing wrong with honoring a dead friend. What we have a
problem with is that you choose to pull a horrifying real story from the
headlines and use it to draw attention to your website.

      I've search CNN.com, MSNBC.com and MSN.com. I didn't find a single
reference to any story about a "Mike Palochek". Nothing. Nada. Therefore,
I have serious doubts that anyone by that name ever existed and that he
"died" in such a manner. Others have requested URL's for the legitimate
news story. I'd like to see them as well.

I would. If it had happened. The photos of your "million fan march" are so
obviously faked, what is to prove that your story is true. There is no mention
of a Mike Palochek anywhere on the web. There's not even a mention of it
on entertainment sites that would certainly jump at the chance to report a
story like this, if it were indeed true.

No there isn't. The man in Texas who was killed simply because he was
black didn't deserve to die. He doesn't deserve to have his story twisted
into something to serve the purpose of a website for *fictional* character.
Connor is *fictional*. Hate crimes are *real*.

Duncan withdrew a number of times because of hate and killing. I
think the ultimate hate crime was the post-Culloden massacres.
He did some of his own hate crimes at that time, too, against the
English. After his epiphany-hb-rattling with Cierdwyn, he simply
withdrew and went on his Great Search for Peace and a Better
Sword. He did the same after Waterloo, when he left Europe for
the New World in search of Peace and some Cool Buckskins. We saw
it again in 1867, when he thumped the table at the dead
inkeeper's place and went off to join the Sioux in search of
Peace, a Good Woman, and Cool Buckskins, this time showing a
      well-turned posterior, or portions thereof.

Duncan is doomed, I think, to be forever seeking Peace, hiding
from hate, war, and killing, and having hate, war, and killing
find him over and over. Perhaps this was what tempered the
Champion in preparation for the fight with Ahriman that darned
      near destroyed him.

I'm sure he saw a lot of what is now called hate-crime. Personally I view
all crime to an extant as hate crime of some sort. It may be that you hate
someone because of the colour of their skin or their religious beliefs, or
simply because they have more money than you.

In Duncan's youth he would live his life hating the people who bore the
name MacDonald for no other reason than that.

Often the kind of crimes we see as hate-crimes are those which are born out
of fear. I don't know or understand this person, so I am going to hate
him and hurt him before he does it to me.

I often ask why is it so much easier to extend a hand with a gun in it that
one which is open with friendship. I suspect a question Duncan has asked
      himself many times.

Makes you wonder though, Duncan has lived 400 odd years and is saddened by
it, what about Methos, maybe that's why he is such a cynic.

      Elaine.

Not a great movie. Run of the mill. Dolph Lundgren must get the Agent Red
(chemical warfare) out of the hands of terrorists and deliver it safely to
the US where it can be disposed of.

      > What was Meilani's role?

She was Dolph's ex-fiance who he still had the hots for. She still wanted
him but was playing hard to get. Meilani was a Navy luitenant involved in
the operation to dispose of a chemical agent which could wipe out all life
within minutes if released. She was an irritating character at first but
became easier to deal with as the movie progressed.

Oh she's been very busy doing movies. Some of them were more like soft porn,
Corporate Ladder, for example. But there was one movie she did recently,
however, which showed more promise. It was a straight to video action movie
in which she played an accomplice of a bad guy. She wore tight clothes and
carried a gun a lot, but it was an interesting. plotline. I'll have to think
on it to come up with the title however.

I see your point, but.... If something made Methos into a Horseman
relatively early in his extended existence, then surely the later millenia
didn't do that much _bad_ to him, if all that resulted was his trademark
cynicism. I've always thought Methos found solace in the world's sameness
over vast passages of time, rather than being exasperated or saddened by
humanity's fundamental lack of change. For him, odd duck that he is, it
would be a reassuring, even humorous, constancy, I think.
