Actually, I don't find it at all funny. It's a disgusting mis-use of the
term hate-crime. Everyday, people are attacked and even killed
because of their color, origin, sexual preference or religious belief.
      Those are real hate-crimes.

To even think of using that terrifying scenario in such a crude parody
is sad and disgusting. oh please. Do you really think anyone still cares?
To even joke about (and yes... I do think the story as depicted on the
website is a sick, sick joke) it is horrid.

I, for one, will be writing to AngelFire to complain. IMGLO, this has got to
be some kind of checking out the main angelfire site to see if the web
page can be found in violation against it's terms of service. REAL people
have died by the method described and it scary to think that Lance thinks
it's okay to use other people's grief for his own fantasies.

It's disgusting to think that someone has so little regard for human
      suffering. :(

Yes he did. I think it was a year or so ago in Texas that a man was beaten,
tied to a truck and dragged until he was. Why? He was black, or gay. I
honestly don't remember. But I think there were three white men tried
for the murder. And that's the one I remember. I'm sure there are
many such cases that we don't hear about.

In a time where too many people are killed for their beliefs it's sad
that Lance thinks this is okay. To use suffereing for his own twisted
      fantasies. :(

That's unspeakably awful, and I feel terrible for not
realizing that crime had actually occurred.

I really am too sheltered: it never occurred to me to
consider that he'd copied that story from a RL event -- and
I'm not sure if it's because I don't like to think about
something like that still happening in this day and time
      *sigh*, or if it's because I can't imagine the ... God, I
can't come up with a word... the total lack of personal
shame that using something like that *knowingly* indicates.

But since his lack of anything resembling a moral center
isn't my problem, I think I'm going to go and contemplate
the error of my ways now.

Relax, Kamil. I don't think anyone can condemn you for underestimating
Lance's rampant iniquity. I suspect it happens w/ him all the time,
whenever he interacts w/ people who, as you say, possess some version of a
      moral compass.
