The following films are scheduled to premiere in 2007: /The Lost
Colony/, starring Paul, about the age-old mystery surrounding the
lost colony of Roanoke, and /King Arthur & The Order of the Dragon/,
written by Tim Cox and Brook Durham (/Mammoth/) and chronicling the
quest for the Holy Grail.
That's strange, there's no mention of Dean Cain at all. What a travesty.
His entire post-Lois and Clark career is based on making crap movies for
Skiffy.

WOW, no giant Insects, giant snakes, giant crocs/gators, rabid cats,
dogs, spiders, bunnies, bats, prehistoric creatures?????????/ are you
sure that's SciFi channel?????? That doesn't make sense, 90% of their
movies are more science horror then science fiction. Starring Dean Cain.
(Skiffy, chuckle)

Subject: Highlander Anime Feature Due in June
Ruthlessly stolen:
<<<Manga Entertainment is planning to release the 80-minute Highlander:
Vengeance anime feature on June 5th in both regular and special
editions. Directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Ninja Scroll, Animatrix,
Wicked City, Vampire Hunter D), the new Highlander anime was produced by
Madhouse Studios (Black Lagoon, Death Note, Paranoia Agent).>>>
The anime version makes it to DVD before "The Source" does. Why am I
not surprised? OK, OK..it's easier to draw and color cute little
cartoons on a computer than it is to move great hulking actors around a
forest in Bulgaria (Romania?)(Latvia?)(Estonia?)((Some cold Eastern
Bloc country <eg>) at night. And cartoons (sorry .."anime") don't
squeal when you cut all their best scenes.
However it is fun to see that even when it comes to animated features,
there are both regular and special editions.
<<<The question with a hybrid project like this is will it please anime
fans or will it appeal to Highlander fans? >>>
My guess is that the anime fans will like it more than the Highlander
ones. Just a guess.
<<<But one thing is for sure, the name recognition of the Highlander
property is sure to get this product plenty of notice.>>>>
Really? Highlander still carries that much weight? The world is a very
strange place.
<<<<Highlander: Vengeance covers elements of the Highlander saga that
were not dealt with in either the movies or the TV series>>>
Yeah, the Japanese elements. (Not counting "Samurai" of course)
<<<<<Director Kawajiri, who is responsible for perhaps the top samurai
anime feature of all time (Ninja Scroll), evidently found plenty of
similarity between the clannish sword-wielding Scots of Highlander and
the clannish sword-wielding samurai of Japan.>>>>
I don't suppose anyone connected with the project ever explained to
Kawajiri that "Highlander" wasn't about a bunch of Highland Scots. I
have this vision of dozens on Immortal Highlanders fighting each other
through the ages (heavy emphasis on the distant future)(Where would
Highlander be without a post-apocalyptic future?)
Wendy(Anime is kind of cool.)(Blood)(Sex)(Weird Japanese characters with
"Western" eyes.)(I like the bright colors.)(Even the dark colors are
bright.)(It's possible the mushrooms are making everything look shiny.)

Ginny reports:

Well..at least we're likely to see this movie - whereas "The Source" may
never see the light of day. A TV movie is better than no movie at all,
right? I mean it could be a big boost for AP's career to have someone
actually see him work? Too bad it has to be in yet another costume drama
with supernatural elements. Unless, of course, he's trying to become the
next Dean Cain? <EFG>
Shadow says:
>WOW, no giant Insects, giant snakes, giant crocs/gators, rabid cats,

Don't prejudge <g> There is a good chance that whatever killed the
people at Roanoke Island will turn out to be giant bunnies. Adrian's
character, Annanias Dare, will kill the giant bunnies by the hundreds
but everyone will still die including the love-of-his-life- leaving him
alone on Roanoke Island with many corpses and much bunny fur. He will
sew the bunny skins together into a giant hot air balloon (nicely
insulated against the cold at high altitudes) and then burn the bodies
to create hot air to lift the balloon. Wind and rain will remove all
traces of the burned bodies and so the returning ship will find nothing
to point to what happened. The fur wrapped balloon carrying our solitary
hero will float north and east until it crashes on the Greenland coast.
The local Inuit population is pleased with the ready supply of bunny
fur. They are less happy with the crazy man going on and on about giant
bunnies. He is encouraged to be dead and obliges.
And finally, AP says of "The Source"
<<<<Have I seen it? Yes. Is it a good movie? I'll let you decide.>>>
A ringing endorsement from the star and executive producer.
Wendy (Giant bunnies are scary.)("Night of the Lepus" was
scary.)(Well....the acting was scary.)

Dang it, Wendy! Now you've gone and spoiled the ending for all of us!
Sheesh. They were hoping the keep the giant-bunny-skin balloon a secret.
