I've seen the Russian version. (Note - it is clearly *not* a bootleg or
unfinished product. It may not be what P/D want released in the US, but
      it is a finished product)

So...what do I think? The sad thing is that there is a tiny faded
glimmer of what could have been a not-horrible movie in there somewhere.
Oh, make no mistake, the basic premise is crap and couldn't be
otherwise no matter what, but there are the barest glimpses of decent
acting and a few lines of acceptable dialog.

It will be fascinating to see what TPTB do with this version if they
ever release something in the US. I don't believe editing can make it
rise to the level of the merely bad . . . unless editing means adding 80
minutes of new materiel and subtracting 80 minutes of existing material
and reshooting the ending and changing the premise.

Complete spoiler filled review to follow.

Wendy ( Would it have killed them to shoot some of the action in the
      daylight?)

But then we'd have seen what they didn't spend on sets!

Not to mention how old Adrian looks.

The opening scene is just breathtaking in that it is Adrian's face only for
a minute or so and he looks stunning. Ageless. I would dearly love to see a
theater release if only for that scene, to see his face like that fill an
entire screen in a theater. Sigh.
