P/D have informed the few remaining HL fans that "The Source" won't be
available until at least September 2007 - two friggin' years after
they filmed it. However, it appears a Russian distributor has jumped
the gun and started selling advance copies. (Yes, yes, not the official
final version)(unless people love this bootleg)(at which point it will
become the official version)(This may be P/D's Russian gambit to test
      the film's appeal to fans)

Has anyone out there already purchased the Russian version? Care to give
us a blow-by-blow account of how much the film...er...blows? <efg>

      Come on...I know someone succumbed.

Wendy ( Tell me there is at least one nekkid sweaty headboard rattling
scene)(It isn't truly a Highlander film without one solid sex
scene.)(Tell me TPTB came up with a semi-plausible reason for Immortal
existence.)(Tell me Methos lives and Duncan does not become
mortal.)(Tell me there is some reason to still care after all this
      time.)

Yes, but it hasn't come to my house yet.

Read the official HL BB for MAJOR spoilers from those who have seen it.
Bottom line: Better than Endgame, but the ending needs work and the Guardian
      is goofy.

Word is that the sex scene is majorly tame

      Not to worry.
      Well, about them, anyway.

See? I knew someone would pay to be an early adopter.

That's....um.....that's it? Really? That falls somewhat below my
      expectations.

      > Bottom line: Better than Endgame, but the ending needs work
      > and the Guardian is goofy.

Better than Endgame? From that synopsis? OK. I mean..... Endgame at
least had a plot. Sort of. I mean....Kell hated Connor and all MacLeods.
Connor was tired and wanted to die. The Watchers had branched out into
the hotel business ("Check out our exclusive blue nasal cocktails!")
Connor dies. Duncan kills Kell. Duncan gets girl (or doesn't depending
on version you watch.). Life goes on its Immortal way.

The Source? From that synopsis, I have the following questions (I know
it isn't the official version and much might change before official
      release.)((No, seriously...they might totally re-edit and re-film the
entire movie.)(And I know that no one can actually answer these
questions now.)(And probably won't be able to after the movie is
      released.

      1) Why is Methos researching The Source? What precipitated this sudden
      interest?
      2) What has happened to the world? Why the ruin and starvation and
purple sky? (OK, I made up the purple sky)
      3) Why is the Guardian running around taunting/killing these Immortals
instead of staying home and guarding? And if he *can* kill them...why
      doesn't he?
      4) Broken katana = an excuse to give Duncan some cool new swords?
      5) Seek the Source? Why?
      6) Follow Anna who is Chosen ... why? How? By whom? For what purpose?
      7) 10,000 years ago some Immortals tried the same thing and came to a
bad end. And? And? That's it? Every 10,000 years some Immortals get a
bug up their collective ass to see what's what?
      8) Cannibals? Frelling cannibals? Cannibals in Highlander? Cannibals who
guard the Source? (Isn't that the Guardian's job?) Or are these just
      run-of-the-mill-post-apocalyptic cannibals?
      9) The Island of Misfit Sources turns Immortals into mortals?( Mortal
cannibals?) Why? To make them easier to kill? But the Guardian was
already capable of killing them (even on HG is appears)
      10) Duncan and Anna have sex. (Finally) Obviously this is when she gets
pregnant - when Duncan is under the anti-Immortal effects of the island.
One time and she "catches" - that Duncan is quite the stud. (Almost as
fool-proof as the back of a 56 Chevy at the age of 16)
      11) Why do cannibals always party and forget to actually *eat* the
      heroes tied to trees?
      12) A spreading fire that only burns through ropes - leaving the
      now-mortal Immortals unharmed?
      13) Methos leads a horde of hungry cannibals away from Duncan.... Death
on a Horse becomes Lunch on a Horse.(If they have horses, why don't they
eat the horses instead of people?)
      14) Anna enters the Source (which is *what* exactly?) and ...what?
      15) Duncan fights the Guardian and leaves him stuck in the ground
"eternally". (What are the odds that given eternity, the Guardian could
      dig himself out?)
      16) Duncan enters the Source with Anna.(That sounds vaguely dirty <eg>)
and discovers she is preggers with their child. The child is "the one"?
      And ........ And ....... And .... And ...... And ..... And .....that's
      it?

Yep...worth waiting 2 years for. <snort> I had really hoped that the
plot that surfaced on the internet months ago was a ploy to throw us off
      - that the real plot would be so much better. I had hoped they would at
least make some effort to explain the "source" since they titled the
      movie "The Source".
