Is this mike on?
OK, that was such a mewling newbie-ish thing to do. <eg>
OTOH, a message I sent two days ago never showed up.
I hate it when that happens.
OBHLR:Bulgaria?
Wendy(OK, that wasn't really an OBHLR)(Did Duncan ever visit
Bulgaria?)(There!)(A real OBHLR)(Weak but sufficient for my purposes.)

I've been wondering if there is a Highlander-Stargate SG-1 crossover.
I've become a big fan of SG-1 and, especially, Daniel Jackson, and
I would love it if Sci-Fi would change its mind and renew the series.

I'm sure there are, although I've never gone looking for any. I had an
idea for a story where it would be discovered that Immortals were
people who had Goa'uld DNA, which would explain why they live
so long, heal fast, yadda. But I was too lazy to actually write it. :)
Stargate has been on for 10 years! That's a LOOOONNGGG time
for any series, let alone a science fiction series. When the news first
broke, some people on a forum I'm on were like, "Eh, so what, I
haven't liked it since O'Neill left." But I liked Mitchell a lot - he's
very different from O'Neill (whereas Sheppard is pretty much
O'Neill with a bit less cynicism and darker hair!) and I love his
and Daniel's relationship. (Loved how he woke poor Daniel up
on the Odyssey! "Wake up, Sunshine..." Heh - the scene that
launched a thousand slashfics.)
But the show does feel a bit tired. I mean, did we really need another
all-powerful bad guy? What's wrong with local stuff - there are still
some system lords out there; we've yet to meet the Furlings (I bet
they are NOTHING like Ewoks!). I mean, there are billions of
stars in our galaxy, wasn't that enough? Stupid Ori. I hate them.
Now, instead of the show seeking out new planets and learning
about them, every episode is another exercise in depression: "The
Ori are going to kill us in the end." Yeah, THAT'LL get people to
keep watching!
I love Stargate and am certainly bummed that it got cancelled. But
these last two seasons have felt like a long, drawn-out wake. (No
fault on the part of Ben Browder, who has done a great job.)
- Marina.
To Wendy: I've also posted a message once in a while (a very
long while) that didn't show up. Shows you how much I cared
that I never bothered to repost them! I second you, though:
Bulgaria?! They should come to South Africa, where there's
beautiful scenery, lovely bright light and the occasional
criminal who escapes from court while still wearing leg-irons...
