OK, but I feel like I should step carefully & wear gloves. Looking at what
DPP passes off as Highlander these days is like picking through garbage.

You'd think an Immie would know to just buy a hybrid & quit whining about
gas prices.

OK, it's crumbling because that's what's available to film in these cheapo,
far-flung, & bottom-feeder locations HL movies always use. (Serenity's
budget was just $39 mil, & they managed to film in & around LA.)

Yeah, right. I wonder if he gets married in this film, too.... Maybe he
even has kids & grows old.

It was the Pax.

Like an itchy, oozing rash?

Source and Serenity spoilers, be warned.

This is very true, but besides making the movie on a shoestring, Serenity's
heart is in its writing, acting, and fans. If DPP took their fans into
consideration instead of the dollar signs, perhaps we would get better shiny
things than stories like this. The HL universe needs a guy like Joss Whedon
at its helm. Maybe Ginjer Buchanan can put in a good word for him. :) I
love HL still, but I've grown a great deal since I watched it, have seen
better written and produced works, and all I can say is this: Highlander:
The Source: I am going to wank. A lot. I lost faith in DPP after that
proposed musical fiasco.

Yes and Miranda makes a much better planet than Zeist any day. ;)

I'm not surprised, given that I heard that the script Abramowitz submitted
was not accepted, in favor of someone else for 'political' motivations. As far
as I'm concerned, I may skip the movie this time, unless somebody sees it and
tips us off that it's terrific. I gave up making allowances for corporate
stupidity a long time ago.

My understanding is that it's not as bleak as that - yet. Some of David's
central ideas may remain intact, combined with pieces from previous
drafts. His were, in essence, the last pair of hands to touch the script
before filming commenced.
Beyond that, it's really down to the director and editor and studio.

Nah, you really have to hunt for crumbling cities in Lithuania.

Oh. So, we're totally screwed.
Nina (recently, the only fandom treated worse than HL is probably Star Wars)
