I have a hard time keeping the dates straight - Season 6 seems like it
should be later than 1997. Having him made a Watcher after the events
shown makes more sense- although he didn't really strike me as the
Watcher type. Does the Watcher Chronicle mention if his disciplinary
action included getting shot at dawn?

Well, I think I'll stick with "awful". If it had been a first season
episode, I'd join you at "poor" but this was Season 6. The fact that it
played just like a Season One episode lowers it into the awful range.

      >& DM would never let a mortal answer a 3AM knock at the barge door

True - unless he was hoping she'd get killed? Easier than trying to get
rid of her in the morning when he realized what a terrible mistake she
had been? His decision to bring her back to the barge after the opera
struck me as being parallel to the reporter he brought back to the barge
after the opera in "Warmonger"- not his type but useful for reducing
fluid levels. Is there something about the Paris opera that drives
Duncan into the arms of unsuitable women?

Wendy (I think Season 6 should have consisted of 13 episodes of Duncan
sitting in his boxers eating ice cream and watching Judge Judy.)(He
saved the world)( He deserves a few decades off)(Each week a new
Immortal would arrive ready to take Duncan's head but would end up
seduced by the power of the ice cream and TV.)(By Episode 13, the ice
cream is being delivered by the truckload each day and Duncan weighs 347
pounds.)(The final shot would have been Duncan waddling down the Quai
muttering "never again" as he tosses an empty ice cream container into
      the Seine.)

Nope. That runs afoul of one of the 3 big problems TPTB had in season
6--Paris is hot in summer, remember.

Haven't we been down this road before? Let's as our resident "expert".
      John! John, John....are you there?

Does this mean that the $$$$ is firmly in place? Or in place if the
script is good and gets written within a set timeframe? I seem to recall
that the last attempt at "The Source" disappeared when the whole process
took too long and the money people walked away. Are any actors actually
signed on or are we still in the "hoping they sign" stage? If DA is
re-writing the script now, when would production start?

Then, on to the real fun..speculating about the plot!

Is this still the "three cute young Immortals look for the meaning of it
all" plot? Will all of the new Immortals be named MacLeod - causing
Duncan to come out of retirement to whack them just on principle? What
new tricks will the Watchers be up to now? Maybe they've formed a true
alliance with the Immortals and each Watcher now actively promotes his
"guy" including supplying intelligence data and cool electronic gadgets
ala James Bond and Q. Will there be nekkid headboard rattling?
Aliens...will they be aliens? Please..please...I liked Zeist! (Or was
      that "I licked Silas"?)

You can tell I'm all atwitter <eg>

Wendy ( My passing reference to James Bond is not intended to start a
discussion of whether Adrian should be the next Bond.)(He
      shouldn't.)('nough said.)

In this case, Carmel and I are on the same page. Things are progressing and
I've been reliably informed that everything seems good to go in the
Autumn/Fall. Could it all go the shape of a pear? Yes. This isn't just
Highlander, this is Hollywood and bigger franchises have been stalled by
smaller things, but what is happening now is that serious momentum is being
generated, schedules are being decided upon, the people actively involved in
it are talking potential start-dates. The people who I trust are telling me
      it looks good to go.

Details? Not much yet as contracts are being finalised. I suspect you'll be
hearing more on that within a couple of months. Script - again, as we all
know it's been in flux. It will be called The Source though that doesn't
necessary mean what evryone assumes it does. Bwahahaha

We're not there yet...like you I won't be happy or satisfied or believable
until I actually see it start to appear on a cinema screen / DVD screen or
whatever, but this is solid good news. It's not the final, final step, but
it's an important one which should lead us to a new movie before the year
      wraps.

Hmmm. I wonder if that means there'll be a trailer by March 10th? :)

Could you maybe vague that up a bit?

So--no script, no director, no stars, no start date. Is the caterer at
least inked? And where IS the rock-bottom cheapest country to shoot these
      days?

Okay. Let's recap for those who were paying attention recently.

      Director: Brett Leonard
Script: David Abramowitz already penned one. Some changes needed, he's
      taking another swing.
Start date: Autumn. Haven't got the exact hour as it will depend on the
      availability of certain locations.
Starring: Contracts currently being signed so can't be officially stated
until then, but safe to say various main TV faces, rather than all-new ones.
      Status: Getting there (hopefully)

      More to follow.
