      Mel asks:
      > Is it me or is that kind of harking back to what may
      > or may not have happened with Connor in the original
      > film, and the whole "did he die or didn't he?" debate?

I understand why they changed canon from the original movie to the
Series. In the movie, Connor (and the other Immortals) don't seem to
actually die until they lose their heads. (This makes them more
"immortal" than the TV Immortals)(Of course *none* of them are truly
immortal.)((After all, immortal means you *can't* die- not that you are
very very very hard to kill) They are almost dead but *not* dead (and
they can do cool things like walk under water without drowning). That
concept works OK in a 90 minute movie where it only happens a couple of
times. In the Series, where Duncan and others got "dead" on a regular
basis , it would have been inconvenient to constantly explain that he
wasn't really and truly dead. Easier to have Immortals "die" and awaken
fully healed. It also opens up more plot lines - what with Immortals
getting buried or sealed in sarcophagi or tossed into rivers as
      "corpses".

With Raven, there was no good reason to suddenly state, in the very last
episode of the series, that Immortals had to die "violently" in order to
activate their immortality. There was a large body of existing HL
canon that said that immortality is triggered by an unnatural death -
and really any death except disease and old age worked. Freezing to
death worked as well as being shot. Further, there were examples of
people becoming Immortal as a result of poison - both accidental (bad
mushrooms) and intentional (angry wives). Nick should have become
Immortal as a result of the poison without any assistance from Amanda.

I'd like to think that TPTB planned to address this issue in Raven's
second season - had there been one. Imagine Amanda's chagrin when she
realized that she shot Nick for nothing? Imagine Nick coming to terms
with the fact that he was destined to become Immoral regardless of
Amanda's precipitous actions. Imagine Duncan coming to town and whacking
them both just to put us out of our misery.

I'm sure this is an old question , but then I'm an old fan <eg>. Has anyone
figured out a way to strip the Season 2 scripts off of the DVDs? Season 1
wasn't easy but it was doable. Seasons 3-6 are nicely set up as Pdf files.
Season 2 is in some ridiculous Flash format. Any way around that?

Endgame had a script? Sad, really. I recall being thrilled when we were
told that AP had script control. Of course, the story being written by
Gillian Horvath also turned out to be useless, as far as quality control.

I just saw someone reviewing DVD releases & they had vicious & totally true
stuff to say about HL2, which apparently just got released w/ spiffy extras
but, unfortunately, the same film. HL2 gets 2 stars per the TV listings
when it airs on cable, yet Endgame "merits" only 1 star. Imagine--DPP's
"gift to the fans" being even crappier than the Zeist dud....

It was more dopey-looking than dramatic. For TV, it worked far better to
have a death & then a revival. Now, _that's_ drama. And--AP's so pretty
      when he's resting.

Either Amanda made a stupid mistake, or the writers did. Either way, it was
a fitting end for the voluntarily brain-dead spin-off.

A Valentine? Should we be that unlucky, experience tells me to expect being
      flipped the bird by DPP--again.
