I just got the Best of Highlander DVD set. These are the episodes they
      used:

The Gathering - First Episode. Passing of the torch from Connor to
      Duncan.
Band of Brothers - Introducing Darius and the "ancient" immortals
Legacy - Introducing Rebecca and telling Amanda's back story
The Samurai - Telling how Duncan got his katana
      Methos - Introducing Methos
Homeland - Duncan's back story before he became immortal
Something Wicked - The Dark Quickening part I
Deliverance - The Dark Quickening part II
Methuselah's Gift - Closing the loop on the Methuselah Stone
Till Death - Possibly the most successful "comedy" episode, but one of
      the "best" episodes??
The End of Innocence - Reintroducing Richie after Duncan almost killed
      him
Comes a Horseman - Methos' back story part I
Revelation 6:8 - Methos' back story part II
Duende - IMO the weakest of the episodes on the Best of Series

      My thoughts:
I definitely see why all the episodes in the set were included, with the
exception of Duende. I personally would not have put Till Death in the
      set.

I can think of quite a few episodes I'd put in rather than those two...?

      Thoughts?

Duende was good for the fight sequences, but that's about it. I would have
put "Studies in Light" in place of that.

There were and are certainly many disagreements over which episodes should be
put in there. I can remember Donna Lettow doing polls on the different boards
at the time as they were making those decisions. The polls were all over the
place. Certainly I would have wanted Duende in there not only because of the
extraordinary sword fight but also because of the dancing. sigh. Studies in
Light is my all time favorite episode, however, so of course I would have wanted
that in there. I don't think we'd ever get everyone to agree. It is a great
set however, the interviews alone are well worth the price.

      Hi

They asked the fans what the best were anf the fans voted on which episodes
they wanted that is why the episodes are on the set.

"Duende," I think, really is one of the best eps, for the sword play and for
the dancing, too. It's quite remarkable what Anthony DeLongis did in that
ep, off screen: he coordinated the sword play. There's more, too, but my
memory is being faulty right now.

The one ep that should be there, which isn't, is "Forgive Us Our
Trespasses," a pivotal episode for MacLeod, and for the MacLeod and Methos
relationship. It deeply saddens me that this ep isn't included in the "Best
      of."

I agree that FUOT is among the best, but so is One Minute to Midnight
and The Valkyrie, in my opinion. It really depends on what you are look
for. As for the merits of "Til Death", I think it was the best comedy,
but not necessarily among the ten best episodes of the series. But I
agree with others that Studies in Light was a wonderful episode and
belongs somewhere in the top rankings. It's also remarkable because it
came relatively early in the series and set the standard for what HL
      *could* and ultimately did become.

As for how the episodes were chosen for the "Best Of" grouping, they did
what was politically prudent - they took a poll, but unfortunately
popularity does not always equate with quality.
