Subject: US fall TV--HL alums are hard to find

The US fall TV schedules were announced recently. (Links are below.) No
      joy for HL fans, of
course, but in fact ALL genre fans are largely bereft. There's seems to be
very little to look forward to--aside from stale sitcoms, dreary dramas, &
of course increasingly tacky & outrageous "reality" programming. Nothing to
      take the place of Angel....

One new trend is "sharing" timeslots. Various plot-intensive dramas--West
Wing, Alias, 24, etc.--will air all their season's eps in consecutive weeks,
      w/o
reruns or pre-emptions. The remaining weeks will be filled by a new show.

On one bright genre note, Tru Calling DID get renewed. (So did ST:
Enterprise, though who really cares....) Previous Whedon-ites Alyson
Hannigan & Charisma Carpenter both had their sitcoms shot down, though.
      Also axed--
the Dark Shadows remake. One genre-sounding new show I see on the main
      networks is
      ABC's Desperate Housewives--a dead woman looks down on her neighborhood;
      derivative, but the stars
include the yummy James Denton, as well as the always interesting Felicity
      Huffman. NBC
      has Revelations--sounds a little X Files-like.

HL alum Joey Pantoliano has a new show, co-starring w/ Rob Lowe in a new
      drama on CBS--
dr. vegas. Lowe is a disillusioned doc taking refuge at a posh job as
      in-house doctor, w/ Joey Pants
playing the casino boss--a role he could do in his sleep, I'd think.

Over on Sci Fi Channel (hock--SPIT), Stargate: Atlantis (yawn....) will
      co-star Torri
Higginson; she takes over Jessica Steen's character from a few recent SG-1
episodes. Higginson played Nick's cranky & doomed partner in HL: Raven's
      premiere ep way back when.

Nina (wallowing in dvds this summer)
