As this list seemes to have been quiet for a while, here's something.
If you were choosing a song/band to do the themes for the new Highlander
mini-series, who would it be?
Incidentally, thanks to everyone who bought a copy of Verbatim #1. #2 is out
in a couple of weeks and includes an interview with Adrian Paul and The
Source's Peter Briggs. You can get more info at:

I'm very partial to Vast these days. They do the song "Touched" which you can
hear in Luminosity's vid of the same name. Lyrical and powerful at the same time.

Fair point -- what else has Queen done that would be suitable, though?

Ah, yes--the mini-series. As I recall, you touted a few months back that it
would be filming in April. So, what's going on? Cast? Plot? Location?
Airdate? Distributor?

Oh--so your post was really just another ad for what you're selling this
time around.... Never mind.

Ah, curses!!! My top secwet hidden agenda/plan discovered by that
all-knowing, all-seeing, all-superior being. Yes.... this was ALL just a
carefully laid plan to liven up the List by seeing if Nina was alive and
well.
In truth, I was worried. Without your fair and balanced witty commentary...I
swear, I nearly turned FOX News on for a fix and sent out search parties for
you.
And yet *I'm* getting the pot/kettle/noir/predictable label. *ouch*
Mini-series: Should actually start in May as long as a contract is signed
in the next few days. Locations are as listed in several magazines, some of
which have nothing to do with me whatsoever. I recommend anything written by
Grant Kempster and Abbie Bernstein. See. No self-promotion there.
Verbatim is my own magazine and I make no apologies for mentioning it here.
I make a very meagre profit IF they ALL sell. Usually just enough to keep it
going for another issue. Happy to provide a venue for articles I couldn't
squeeze into Impact or that might be of interest to the genre fan. Everyone
is happy. Except you, naturally.
But hey... Get a copy. Don't get a copy. Whatever.
BTW: did you raise your head above the parapet to answer the music question
or wasn't that the purpose of posting?

Mautadine, I hit send too fast. I meant to add or offer as alternative "Seul" by the whole cast of Don Juan. More fitting perhaps.

I have a few ideas:
Any of several RunRig songs. Celtic rockers on a par with Queen.
Queen (naturally)
Pat Benatar (an old favourite of mine, bit some of her songs seem apt)
Given Africa is a location, it also opens up some new styles too.

After some problems over the last few days, I contacted my ISP, BTinternet.
It appears that for some reason that Earthlink has blocked incoming
BTinternet e-mails, so while BTinternet users can receive FROM an Earthlink
address, return e-mails will be blocked. Apparently may take up to 2 WEEKS
to sort out.

Well, you'll surely get to it soon.

Bingo!

I'll probably skip it. It's old material already passed on by the mags you
work/ed for at the time, right?

Suggesting music for a possible show w/ unspecified characters & plot that's
not ready to go in front of the cameras seems silly to me. Your post did
remind me the mini was, according to you, supposed to already have been
filmed, so _that_ was why I posted. Just mildly curious.... as to exactly
how DPP will screw over the HL fandom this time around.

Nope. *Some* repeated stuff from Impact issues past, but collected and
updated as need be. Other stuff all new and kept back by me to specifically
launch this project. For example Adrian Paul, Peter Briggs, Tim Minear.
Happy to correct your misunderstanding.

Hmmmm. Hanging around a List devoted to a series that hasn't been on for
five years or so and saying how much any future interpretation is just bound
to suck like a black hole, sounds sooooo much more productive.
And just to correct again (hey, I'm on a roll).... I never said it would be
filmed by now. I said it was due to start sometime in April , so it would
never have been finished yet anyway. Now looks to be delayed by just a few
weeks. But that hardly means it's in any Source-like limbo.
Equally, most people now know the name of the central character, several
locations, some general ideas about the central story and the format. If
you went to the Walkabout, you may know David Abramowitz discussed it. I'm
sure some Highlander fan will bring you up to date if you want all the info
he divulged on stage should buying magazines be too much of a chore.

A lot like your initial post today was actually to launch publicity FOR this
new project, I guess.
If I cared, I could wonder about the ethics of your interviewing these nice
folks on Impact's behalf (& dime) & then "keeping back" certain goodies for
a personal project. But, I find my interest in your latest on-list
promotion to be fading.
> saying how much any future interpretation is just bound

"Productive?" I'm killing time on a download. And, Endgame was touted by
Bill Panzer as the franchise's "gift to the fans." It's hard to trust after
that.

Sounds like it's still totally up in the air, production-wise, & may or may
not ever get filmed. And, yes, I heard what DA said, but YOU seemed to be
the authority on the mini, per your postings a while back. So, I asked you
for an update. It's always best to get info from the horse's mouth, don't
you agree?
