DR ANNE!!!!
She was the most flawed of his mortal attachments, and treated a
lot worse than some of the others. I think toward the end of the
series, Duncan had pretty much given up the idea of a mortal SO.
He made some bad mistakes with Anne but it's hard to see how
he could have done otherwise. He couldn't tell her up front, he
had to wait till he thought he could trust her, but along the way
(over a very short time), which didn't seem to happen with Tessa,
he went nuts at least once, kept getting shot at, had this little
troll of a "nephew" who tried to kill her, then finally took a
dive off a balcony, then topped things off by revealing his deep
dark secret over the phone.
