The thread is a bit old but I'm just catching up on some list mail.

        From: MacWestie <mac.westie@verizon.net>
The novels are all pretty bad; the best to be said of any of them
is that any HL is better than no HL at all. It's not that they
are all that inconsistent (though there are some gaffes), just
mostly...trite...& in many cases the characters are not "caught"
        by the authors.

I had read some of them but gave up buying them after awhile. (I think
I gave up on one or two partway thru.) I only vaguely remember Element
Of Fire, but wasn't there some extra sifi-ish aspect to it that wasn't
part of the series/movies? Some extra ability/power the evil Immortal
had that didn't fit with what we'd seen in the HL universe. I know
that's a bit vague but I mainly just remember thinking someone had an
idea for a sifi/fantasy story and tried (badly) to merge it with HL.
(and mud.) (sortof like what seemed to happen with HL2.) Wasn't
there also a scene in the book where some of Duncan's (or was it
Connor's) hair was burnt but grew back right away to the same length?
It seemed pretty silly since how would they explain the fact that
Immortals never seem to have a problem having their hair cut
given the amount of times we've seen them with different lengths
over the years. While it was a minor part of the story it stood
out because it really didn't fit.

Has anyone seen or heard anything about two movies with Adrian Paul?
One is Code Hunter and the other is Nemesis Game. I'm wondering if
        it's worth buying the DVDs.

        From: Dotiran@aol.com
Code Hunter is my least favorite of all the films AP has done post
HL:TS. It is a disjointed scifi type movie. Adrian of course looks
simply dark and lovely. But there isn't much of a "role" for him in it.

I rented it a few weeks ago out of curiosity and sortof wish I had
paid more attention to the comments from people saying it wasn't worth
it. Despite the fact that AP played an important character he didn't
have much screen time. It was amusing to see just how many movies
they seem to have taken ideas from though. `War Games' seemed to be
the one with the most similarities. If you're Really curious about
it I'd suggest renting it (and fast forwarding thru most of it) but
don't buy it if you haven't seen it first.

Btw, on the chance anyone has missed PW in `The Wedding Dress' it
seems to keep turning up as a rerun. It was on again a few months
ago and again a few days ago. I'm not sure but I think it was on
Lifetime channel so you may want to check their listings for
      more reruns.

Nice close-out, but it was kind of sad. It was obvious
that it had to be hard on Mac. I *did* want to reach
in and give him a good slap at times, but I can
      understand why it happened.

Now he goes back to Seacouver, setting the scene for
Methos' arrival and Charlie's demise, right? And he
goes back to Paris chasing Kalas later in the season?

I'm impatient....don't wanna wait and see. What's the
ep where Mac gets the barge back? What happened, did
he start to regret selling it and buy it back from
      whoever he sold it to?

And have we seen the last of Maurice?

      Subject: Highlander Novelization

I finally got my copy of the novelization and haven't
had time to read it all yet but I've been looking
through it. I notice it has more in it than the
movie....was that stuff they cut from the script/movie
as being too long (or overbudget)? I think it might
have made the film even better if it had been
      included.

I also like the way they phrase the ending, that
Connor 'thought' he'd fought his last battle. There
*is* a Kurgen POV part that says that only MacLeod
stood between him and the Prize, but still it's not
      quite like in the movie.

Mel (but that still doesn't clear up the question of
how could he have not known that Duncan was still
alive...he'd surely have found out some way if Mac had
died(I know, Duncan hadn't been created yet...))
