Per Moviehole--
"Miramax confirm that work is finally about to get underway on a fifth
"Highlander" movie. One which won't be starring any of the original stars,
notably Christopher Lambert. Set to go into production shortly, "Highlander
: The Source", has been mooted for years, but it's only now that it's
showing signs of going ahead."

Probably the lead character's name will be Quentin.

I'll admit I'm not optimistic about the quality of a new HL movie. There's
that track record thing.
OTOH, I think I'll reserve judgement until we have a little more to go
on. Some of the folks involved did manage to make the series which
brought us all to this list.

If I might crawl out from under the Porch of the Rockers for the Aged for a
second.... <g>
I remember thinking about 10 years ago when Highlander: The Series was first
announced that the movie PTB were going to screw up another perfectly good
SF/ Fantasy movie by adapting it for television. Boy, did I ever stand
corrected.
Then a few years back, another movie's PTB announced that they were going to
adapt it for television, and I thought "oh, this time they'll definitely
screw up yet another perfectly good SF/Fantasy movie by turning into a TV
show." Now that my dear hubbie and I are addicted to watching SG-1 reruns on
Mondays via TiVo, I stand corrected yet again.
On the other other hand, the HL movie folks made 1 good movie and 3
moderately wretched sequels (except for some parts of HL:IV). So it doesn't
look promising.
I still say our HL:IV was way better than theirs, though. Remember Jim and
"Why don't we do it in the road?" <beg>

AOL has spam filters? Sort of. Maybe I won't dump it after all. ;)
