Subject: Janine's new email/ Random stuff

      1. If the name "Janine Shahinian" conjures any warm, fuzzy feelings for you,
then you might want to note that I have a new email address:
      <ja9shahinian@comcast.net>.

      2. I've never been unsubscribed to this list for the past seven years. It's
just that a couple hundred digests can get piled up and go unread for long
periods of time. A part of me will never let go of Highlander fandom.

      3. It felt really nice to be on ZK's private email list that notified me of
her new high-speed internet address. :) Oh, the joys of high speed (and real
email software)! Now whenever I start addressing an email to my son, Lee
(off in college), I have to make sure not to click on the *wrong* "Lee" from
      the names that pop up.

      4. I've been trying to set up a couple of Yahoo! Groups for my daughter's
high school and it's been slow going to get mundanes to understand the joys
of interacting through email lists. (My rose-colored glasses match my shirt.
<g>) I must say, though, in all my travels away from HIGHLA-L, nothing beats
the dynamic that exists on this list. And from what I've seen, a lot of
credit goes to how Debbie organized it all. HIGHLA-L's structure is not
outwardly apparent and can only be appreciated when you experience the lack
      of it elsewhere.

      5. I thought "Meridian" was well done. If it had to happen, then that's the
way to do it. And it even looks like the Stargate version of Denial is going
to triumph in the end: a sign of a successful franchise. :)

      6. Passing thought while watching Smallville: NO! Maria is still a young
woman who's off pursuing a modeling career! She's too young to be all grown
up, a doctor, and cynical enough for Lex!

      7. "John Doe" is a great show for Highlander location spotting. New episode
Friday on Fox. (The outside of his hangout bar is Anderson's under the
Granville bridge that was seen in "Blackmail".)

      8. Doing a Google search on my own name from time to time shows that folks
still "reference" me in connection with some piece on Vancouver locations
that used my list. FWIW, I registered all versions of my list with the
Copyright Office as compilations a while back. Beyond the issue of rights
(which is still debatable), dropping me a line and personally letting me
know how you're enjoying my list would be really nice.

      9. Mario Azzopardi's episode of "Dinotopia," titled "Contact", is airing on
ABC on December 12th (8pm Eastern). According to the "Times of Malta," Mario
returned to his island homeland to film two Dinotopia episodes.

      10. Completely OT: Hope you caught the gag at the end of the credits on the
latest Harry Potter film - if you went to see it, that is. :)

Figuratively speaking, of course. Wouldn't want to rock the dynamic
      TOO hard. :-)

while condensing three pages of notes into 3 lines, abbreviating
everything, you turn the phrase, "There can be statements" into
      "TCBOStmnts."

      Sigh.

other lists I populate, I passed my master's exam and am graduating next
Saturday, so someone else can have the title of Eternal Grad Student(tm)
      because I'm done with it.)

This has just been released. It's been confirmed by Angel's Tim Minear.

It is with great sadness that I have to report that Glenn Quinn passed
away December 2, 2002. Services for Glenn will be held privately with
      his family and close friends.

Glenn's body of work earned him the devotion of fans around the world,
and he will most certainly be sorely missed.
