Did someone say they had seen `Merlin- The Return' on video in
the US? I think I remember someone saying they found it really
cheap at Ames. The Ames near me has a tiny video section so I'm
not suprised I didn't find it when I checked. If someone does
have it, who was it distributed by (and was there a url on the
box)? While I know it's available on video and dvd in England,
I haven't been able to find any references to it having been
released in the US. Even though I play UK dvds this doesn't
sound like it's worth paying the extra cost for exchange rate/
international shipping. (the dvds that come out in England in
a few weeks with part of the first season of Andromeda are a
different matter and something I like enough to not care about
the extra cost, especially with the US release info vague.)

For those of you who have seen `Merlin', does Adrian have much
of a role in it, or is he a minor character? The reviews I've
read just talk about the movie being bad, but don't actually
      mention AP.

According to the Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com) Adrian is
fourth billed in the role of Lancelot.

That's interesting, when I checked the site a few days ago it
wasn't there. While I won't buy from Amazon (for assorted reasons)
I sometimes check their site for info. But the fact that they have
it listed means some of the other places may eventually get it.
      Thanks for the info.

My local WalMart has had the DVD for a couple of months....also at $9.99 (I think.)(Might have been $14.99) If there is a store nearby, might be worth a visit. otherwise, it is available at several places listed on PriceGrabber.com

It's good to know it is now available here, but has anyone seen the movie and
on a rating of 1 to 10 where would you rate it. I watched and taped The
Breed, because of APs role in it, but the movie was not that good in my
opinion, and I wouldn't pay $$ for it at the store. Is Merlin the Return
better than The Breed and does AP have a significant role in it? Someone had
mentioned that he was 4th billed in the cast list, but that doesn't really
tell whether or not he had significant air time, etc.

      Thanks for any info.

      Ciao

Only my personal opinion, but I wouldn't give it higher than a 3. I found it
very hard to follow and rather comical. I do realize it was a childrens'
movie, but I thought it would be confusing for many kids. Another of AP's
      unfortunate choices.

His role is smaller than that in The Breed, but larger than many of his other
      movies.

It's actually available of over the UK not just in England. Try Play they
are based in the channel islands and can get most things.

I'd give it a 5 or a 6. I enjoyed it a great deal. Adrian is good in it.
Though you do have to go in there and be a kid. There are some nice
moments to watch for see bottom for those. I'd say it's better than the
      Breed by a long way.

He has a fair bit of screen time in it and he did arrange the fight scenes
      as well.

It's a fun movie and is a great romp - it's not meant to be taken seriously
it doesn't have a angsty theme, it doesn't have a classic script. It is
      what it is.

      Now

      For

      Those

      Bits

      That

      I

      Mentioned.

When he is fighting with Arthur they have to jump this chasm and he turns
and smiles at Arthur and says 'do you want to live forever'.....which
brought a great yell in the cinema when I saw it.
He gets to say that again.

Rik Mayall is wonderful as Merlin especially when he goes jogging in his
      underpants.

The attack on the truck by Arthur's knights is just the funniest thing I
      have ever seen.

Oh and then there is the kid....Richie by name....at the end Adrian puts
his hand on his head smiles that little smile of his and says he'll take
      care of him.

      Elaine.

Yes. I knew going into it that it was a children's movie and put my expectations there. It was truly fun. I thought Adrian looked great, loved the Brit accent and found the ending scene downright moving. Kids could have been better actors, but I wasn't expecting high drama.
