whos to say they arent born out of a womb? i've never heard that they
werent, we just know that immortals do not know who their ture parents are.
we can probably safely assume that they were not born of mortal parents, but
that doesn't mean that they were never born. they go through the same aging
and development as a mortal child; so why would they even bother unless they
were somehow "born"? throwing out highlander 2, i think we should all just
wait for this epic question to be answered by the actual creators of
highlander.

Okay, I know I'm jumping the gun here, as this topic probably isn't
scheduled to come up for debate for another few weeks yet *G*, but this
occured to me the other night when I got to see 'A Knight's Tale' for the
first time (and no, I didn't get to see the bloopers, our cinema kindly cut
the credits, and after complaining I got a free ticket out of it) where was
I? Oh, yes...
If Immortals do not come from a mother's womb - how come they have belly
buttons? :-)
My sister promptly choked on her drink, so I guess it's a valid enough
question.

Or...we can silently pray that the actual creators of Highlander NEVER,
EVER, EVER think it's a good idea to go near the question and decide to let
the magic remain just that ;)
Not interested in the Source, just the flavour.

They HAVE to be born of mortal parents - immortals can not have children. As
I have understood it, from countless readings for YEARS, you are born to
mortal parents, but if you are "a special mortal" you become immortal when
that all important "violent" death befalls you. It is at that moment that
you are "reborn" immortal if you are to be one. I only don't know, nor have
I ever read, an explaination as to who is the lucky few that are to become
immortal. Does this just befall some of us by chance? Any and all
clarification is welcomed.

That's a good question, but I think the one that must
first be solved is this: if Immortals are born just
like any other human, then why have all of them been
left alone as babies, to be picked up by whoever
happens to pass by?
