Yeah, I feel that way too. If they were going to do their own version in the first place, why in God's name didn't they try and *at least* make it error free? Surely they had the time, since the release date was their choice, so what was up with releasing a version with at least the same number of goofs, if not more, as the rush job? Granted, they fixed the HG goof, and thereby set in stone the notion that all Watchers are brain-dead, but that was pretty much a given anyway... <g> : : : I didn't notice that. (Though the ending doesn't work for me in any : version.) I'm wondering now if it's on the DVD version, or if it was left in somehow (oh, gee, another accident) in the version that was earmarked to be converted for pan and scan -- or whatever they call that process. <g> Gerry (?) said it's one of the 'hidden' clips on the DVD, not part of the actual fight. In the VHS version (and how many versions of Endgame would *that* make?)(and are there any other differences?) it's there: a clear, full face shot of someone who isn't Duncan or Kell. Or AP or BP, for that matter. <g> I haven't seen the DVD, either disk, and after renting the VHS from Blockbuster I was more than content to wait for a taped copy of same from a friend. Who may or may not get around to it this year. <g> I have less than no interest in paying money for that version -- especially since I've got the theatrical now. The only things I really liked, and wished had been in the theatrical, were the added footage in the Kell fight (not to include the mirror!Duncan moment <g>) and Methos giving Duncan his sword back. They can keep the extra Rachel stuff; I much preferred the spookiness of her finding her picture skewered on a sword to worrying why someone who worked in that loft was tippy toeing around, looking scared out of her gourd, for no good reason. And the chatter in the loft bored me senseless (like I cared about Faith's supposed fashion sense?)(for a haute couture designer, they surely dressed her like last year's news -- and don't get me started on the acolytes' attire -- or were they a posse? A gaggle? Brothers? <g,d,r> Ah. And my most favorite add-on. Kell and Faith supposedly insulting each other. "Fuck you." "I've already had you." "Not really." Show of hands? Anyone out there who *hasn't* used that, or some close variation thereof, at some point in their high school or college days? Thought so. Anyone used it since they grew up a tad? <weg> First, shouldn't that have been set *after* she had been with Duncan, not before? Considering Kell's delicate sniff of the air in her vicinity (ick), followed by the 'you've been with him' comment. Or was that a generic 'him'? She certainly *looked* like the last cheap hooker in NYC, so hey, maybe it was one of her other boys. <g> It was nice they fixed the disappearing coat thing & showed : how the men got from bottom to top during the fight, but WHY would they : reuse footage in such an obvious way? Especially, when they had all the : time in the world to actually sit & WATCH what they'd patched together! Shrug. Beats me. You're right, of course. I suddenly remembered. That makes it even more hilarious then. :) Gerry ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Apr 2001 15:23:53 -1000 From: Geiger <geiger@maui.net> Subject: Re: NO SPOILERS; HL Endgame on AT&T Digital Cable Pay Per View me before-- > > Wonder which version will end up on > > the regular channels--theater version or Producers' Cut? But, it should still be clear which version--theater or PCut--is the basis for what shows up later, ad nauseum, on regular TV. Lynn-- > (along with the airplane version, if there's going to > be one) Um, I doubt it for HL:EG. (Did ANYONE catch HL:EG in mid-air???) Sci-fi movies aren't usually shown in the friendly skies, & I don't see any reason this particular one would have been a rarity. > and will include always-bad > television ADR to replace the dirty words. Can't be any worse that the non-AP dubbing for DM in the new final scene of the PCut. (The only way THAT could have been worse was if they'd used a woman--w/ a Southern accent & a bad head cold.)
