and given that allergies are caused by one's immune system
overreacting to something like pollen that isn't really a threat at
all; an immortal's immune system, with all that hyperactive healing
must always be overreacting to stuff.

For those of you who post there, it appears that a number of the regulars are
leaving ATH because they don't like Save Connor members opinions and thats
ashame. I applaud those of you who believe in including all HL fans in ath.
It makes the forum more liveley and interesting when there are a divergent
number of discussions.

Lance,
I agree with everyone here that has asked for verification of this HL
fan's death. I join with them in asking for this information. In fact
I will make it a requirement for your continued participation in this
forum. Please provide a URL for a newsstory from a well respected
news organization or provide the name of a newspaper which carried the
obituary or provide the name of the city where the crime was committed
so that we can check out the facts ourselves. If you do not provide
one of the above in one week from today your subscription to HIGHLA-L
will be removed and you will be barred from joining again. Also if we
cannot verify the facts from the information or URLs you provide after
seven days then your subscription will be removed and you will be
barred from joining again.
I have little tolerance for a hoax being perpetrated on the HL fandom
and I won't continue to allow you to do it on this list.

Lance's blatant asinine behavior is irritating at best and certainly
doesn't reflect the behavior of the Highlander fan base in general and

And what does this have to do with Highla-l? What occurs on ATH is not an

What bothered me was the total lack of comment from the characters that
something untoward had occurred. I didn't need cataclysm--just a gasp & a
"He killed on HOLY GROUND! That's... diabolical" from Joe, Duncan, ANYONE.

Right. It makes the Immies & the Watchers in charge all very stupid.
Stupid is my very least fav trait in characters.

Well, I thought Faith was weakly drawn & poorly portrayed, so I wasn't upset
at seeing her bite the dust. (What, _exactly_, did DM see in her? Compared
to Amanda, Tessa, etc.?) I really don't see Faith/Kate appearing in any
future HL movie (actually, I don't SEE any future HL movie, but that's
another story), so what's the point of having her live here? DM didn't need
her--he _needed_ not to have had to kill Connor (as the latest of a long
line of friends he's had to kill), & he _needed_ his remaining
friends--Methos & Joe--w/ him at the end. Plus, the new final scene sucked,
in how it was presented--90% Faith dialogue, w/ the movie's hero just
standing there like a dolt, his paltry lines badly voiced over by an actor
other than AP. Ick. And a very weak way for the film to end.
>And as far as I understand it, it basically changes the canon

Who made that rule? Really--just how many do-overs do DPP get? This is
exactly like the director's cuts released to smooth over the most glaring of
the gaffes in HL 1 & HL2. Something like Zeist doesn't just go away, nor do
the absurb screw-ups in HL4--not even the ones patched up in the producer's
cut.

I'd have liked that scene, too--it works better for the character. But, if
the effects were too bad to use, imagine just how bad they must have been.
Worse than Carlos' rolling head.... Worse than the morphing faces....
Worse than the blob taking the place of the JVC sign.... Worse than the
matte painting behind DM at Connor's grave.... It must REALLY have sucked.

Well, I'm thankful for small favors, then. Like the 3rd teaser's Stargate &
2 Kells never surfacing in any of the cuts.

That makes a lot more sense than as it was used in the producers' cut, which
had the Watcher interfering in the final fight such that, had Joe not
intervened, DM would have likely been BHd & Kell made that much stronger.
If they can't even make it sensible in the producers' cut....
> There is a small subplot where Connor leaves a christmas tree yearly for a

Everyone makes a big deal about that. Sorry--it doesn't sound like Connor
to me. And I think DM would provide more substantial assistance to the
needy.

The director's exclusion speaks volumes.
>As a Highlander fan, I was quite satisfied with this DVD.
It is better than the theater version, in that it flows more smoothly &
fills in a few more details. Plus, they corrected some of the goofs. They
didn't get nearly all, though, & they created some new ones here. The film
is still marred by those goofs, dizzy editing, lack of meaningful dialogue,
a laughable & incomprehensible villain, shallow characters, & a scattered
plot. Highlander & AP deserved better. So did the fans.
So, as a Highlander fan, I'm still pretty pissed off. But, as a Highlander
fan, no longer surprised.

I think I was feeling around about The Game maybe not being so alien or
far-fetched, compared to our daily reality.
Humanity's continuing struggle w/ good & evil is, I think, the inevitable
result of having free choice, the ability to decide individually how to act.
Just as DM & certain other Immies met foes who were evil & killed just
because they could in The Game, so we are faced w/ things like hate crimes
in real life.

Oh, yes!!! I don't have pictures of the presentation, but I've got a
great group shot of HIGHLA-L folks in their brand new list t-shirts, and I
know Debbie and the whip are in that one. Remember the list t-shirts??
G2, IIRC. I remember going through the autograph line and being in a group
of 5 or 6 people, and all but one of us was wearing a HIGHLA-L shirt.
After I told Adrian that I'd utterly failed to come up with something
exciting to say to him <g>, he asked about my t-shirt. Wow, that was a
