Subject: REVELATIONS: Part 3(a)

Hello all, I'm back. Here is part 3a of Revelations. I broke this section
into two parts mainly because the machine I was using got stubborn and I
couldn't edit anything. I also managed to lose the second part. Just as soon
as I find it, I'll post it as well. As usual all comments to
z_dentonam@titan.sfasu.edu.
Enjoy!! (Oh, yes, for all you people who came in on this story late, this is
about what I would think would happen if Duncan told Anne. It was started
before Star-Crossed aired)

Revelations
Part 3 of ?
By Amy M. Denton

As Joe Dawson made his way up the steps of DeSalvo's Dojo, he didn't
hear anything and *that* bothered him. Usually he could hear the sounds of the
men inside working out and just the everyday sounds that a business produced
but today the dojo was silent and it worried him. <It's like someone died.> he
thought and then <You don't think...>. He paused for a minute, then shook
his head firmly as if to shake the bothersome thoughts of his head and finished
his walk up the stairs. When he reached the top of the staircase and walked
through the double glass and wood doors that flanked the entrance, he didn't
see anyone. <What is going on? People should be here.> An uneasy feeling
began to creep over him. He hurried to the small office set off in one corner
of the dojo and looked in through one of the windows that lined it. He looked
for a moment, the uneasy feeling growing, then saw some movement behind the
desk. He breathed a sigh of relief. He walked into the office and looked
behind the desk only to see Richie on his hands and knees under the desk. He
appeared to be looking for something.
"Richie?" Joe said, "What are you doing?" At the sound of Joe's voice,
Richie started, sat up and smacked his head on the underside of the desk. Joe
heard a muffled "Ow!" and was rewarded moments later when Richie came out from
under the desk, rubbing his head where he had hit it. He looked reproachfully
at Joe. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you but where is everybody and what
were you doing on the floor?"
Richie stood up and brushed the dust from his clothes. "I was looking
for my keys. I got all the way down to my motorcycle and I didn't have them.
I came back up here to see if I dropped them." He shrugged. "What are you
doing here? Is there something wrong? Need some help?" He looked around the
office and frowned. "What did I do with them?" he muttered to himself.
Joe was silent for a moment then said "I was wondering what Duncan had
done with himself. I haven't seen him in almost a week. I usually see him at
least two or three times a week and this week, nothing." He waved his hands in
the air to emphasize his point. "Do you know where he is?"
"Oh." was all Richie said. "Well, I..." he stopped and chewed his lip for
a moment thinking. He probably should tell Joe but he didn't know. After
Duncan had told Anne, Anne had left and hadn't come back. That was five days
ago and Duncan had just closed up and turned in on himself. It was like he
just stopped living and was now just going through the motions. It worried him
watching his mentor suffer and Duncan was oviously suffering. Richie could
tell that much just by looking at him. He didn't want to get Duncan mad at him
but if he could find a way to get Anne back maybe Duncan would forget he *had*
told anyone. <Yeah, right.> he thought. He looked at Joe. The man was
obviously concerned or he wouldn't have come all the way over to the dojo just
to to shoot the breeze.
