A Highlander/Lassie crossover
Jason R. Tippitt, 1994
MAJORLY non-canon (or is it?)
Part 1

*******

The young boy romped through the wilderness near his family's summer
cabin, using a branch to sword-fight the goblins that lived near the
creek. Little did he suspect that in the wilderness, a pair of eyes
watched his every move, evil designs afoot in the mountain man's mind.
    "He is the one..."
Beside Timmy was his best friend in the whole wide world, hid dog,
the beloved collie Lassie. She had been by his side for years now, and
showed no signs of slowing down with age.
The sun began to set in these mountain woods. "We'd better get back
to the cabin, girl," Timmy said.
    Suddenly Lassie's ears perked up.
"What's wrong, girl?" Timmy asked. She seemed to have an uncanny
sense of approaching trouble. "What is it?"
A tall man stepped out of the woods. "Hello, there, little boy. I
haven't seen you in these woods before. You got something I want." He
drew a sword and advanced toward Timmy.
Lassie jumped in front of Timmy, snarling at the intruder.
"Lookie here, a little mutt. You ever tasted blood, pup?"
Meanwhile, back at the cabin, Timmy's mother looked at his father.
"I sure hope Timmy's all right," she said.
His father looked out from under his fishing cap, safe and secure in
his rocking chair. "He'll be fine, hon--Lassie will take care of him."
