Connor MacLeod's Multi-Universal Timeline ----------------------------------------- Version 1.8 (Last updated on 08/24/96) Compiled by Brian Haden Write me at HADEN@OKSTATE.EDU This timeline is based on bits of information gathered from various sources (books, movies, scripts, etc.). I have tried to piece it together in a logical way so that it doesn't contradict anything _too_ much. This timeline is about 90% accurate, with 10% speculation. It is by no means regarded as "canon" by me, nor should it be by anyone else. It is simply done for fun, so please don't flame me for posting "Highlander Blasphemy". :D Source Key: H1 = Highlander 1 - the movie H2 = Highlander 2: The Quickening (only the non-Zeist stuff is used) H3 = Highlander 3: The Magician/Sorceror/Final..aw, you know HTV = Highlander: The Series H1S = Highlander 1 script (1st-3rd drafts, not Widen's script) H3S = Highlander 3 script (1st and 2nd drafts) HN1 = "The Highlander" novel by Garry Douglas HN2 = "Highlander: The Element of Fire" novel by Jason Henderson H3P = Highlander 3 American and foreign movie poster artwork Everything in Highlander: The Animated Series is set some 700 years beyond present day and Connor MacLeod only makes a brief appearance in one episode. The Animated Series is rediculous and no self-respecting Highlander fan should take it seriously. As for Highlander 2, all the future stuff about Zeist and the events circa 1994-1999 contradict both the TV series and Highlander 3, so they aren't counted as canon either. However, the brief bits of info regarding Connor's past, such as his voyage on the HMS Rosemary, _can_ fit into the overall timeline without any problems. The TV series novel "The Element of Fire" seems to confirm that The Rosemary and other historic references in Highlander 2 are indeed canon. The "Renegade Version" of the film is a nice re-edit, but it still can't be considered part of the true Highlander Universe timeline. One rather unique source used for a few of the dates listed came from the poster art for the American and foreign Highlander 3 movie posters. Both displayed the artwork of Connor standing, with one arm raised high, in front of the giant face of a clock with certain years labeling the times on it. The American poster had the dates 1511, 1536, 1605, 1789, 1863, 1943, 1995, and finally a faint 2024 partially hidden behind a bolt of lightening (obviously a joke to make the point that Highlander 2 never happened). For the foreign poster art, the dates are 1587, 1642, 1789, 1995, and an unusual one labeled "350 av. JC". I'm not sure what that one means, but I think JC might stand for Julian calendar. Any info or suggestions on this would be nice. As for the rest of the dates, a few of them have obvious significance (1536, 1995) and a few center around great wars Connor is known to have fought in (1789, 1863, 1943). 1943 also happens to be the year he found Rachel, according to the novel and script. The 1511 date is confusing. It must represent his birthdate, which is more logical than the 1518 date (which only makes him eternally 18 years old). However I ignored the 1511 date since the 1518 date is mentioned in so many sources. The 1587 date corresponds to a vague reference in the novelization of when Heather died, and the 1642 date I interpreted to be when Connor began his journey towards Japan to find Nakano. It would have taken him awhile to get there from Scotland, and he may have taken his time in order to see all the new lands and people on the way. Some of you may argue that the poster art is not a valid source for canon information, but I say otherwise. :D All dates listed by themselves are fairly accurate. Those with a "c." before them are an estimation, so it could be a couple years before or after that date. The "?" dates are extremely speculative and I have no info to pinpoint one single year to that event, so I put them in where they most logically fit.
