Duncan was "the Highlander" (ie his name on the marquee). He's essentially a loner type, willing to get involved but unwilling to put down strong roots he may have to abandon. On Farscape (named after Crighton's ship) the lead character is dumped into a community (the inhabitants of Moya) and must be a part of that community or he won't survive. I'm not sure if it's possible to do a show about Immortals as an ensemble cast, because they do tend to be alone. They can't really get close to each other because "there can be only one."
