She said I could get it for 99.95 instead of the 139.95, so I went ahead and ordered it. After giving her my info, she said it wouldn't go through at 99.95, but was 129.95 now and no one told her about the price change. <rolling eyes, wondering how I didn't see that coming> I had a heck of a time trying to tell her I would wait to order it. She said they're going really fast like all other DVD's and I might not be able to get a set if I waited, although she had told me just a few minutes earlier that the "Best of.." didn't sell very well, but perhaps that was on VHS only. I also checked with my credit card company and they said it would be no problem to dispute the charge if it showed up on my statement after all. So, are there still problems with the DVDs? I remember a woman here who got some bad discs a few months ago. Oh, and she just called back, offering me Endgame. I have had no trouble with them. I have had trouble with other NON Highlander movies on dvd';s. Its more with the dvd player than the dvd's. I would order them I love mine. NEVER NEVER believe anything the store tells you. The first season dvd's are going slow. More sales will be needed for then to produce the other other seasons Mary ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Mar 2002 16:53:12 EST From: Ashton7@aol.com Subject: MediaWest and Zines Please feel free to forward to any interested parties. Hello, all. If there are any of our older zines, particularly in other fandoms (Blakes 7, Highlander, Rat Patrol, multi-media, Man from UNCLE, Alias Smith & Jones, Westerns), that you would like to pick up at MediaWest, please contact us about pre-ordering. Only more recent issues of the zines will be readily available at the convention. Leah's new Highlander zine, A Kind of Magic (http://ashtonpress.ma-at.net/akindofmagic.htm) *will* be available at Mediawest and there is a *possibility* that "Cry Wolf* will finally be available, as well. But please don't hold me to that. I'm having surgery in two weeks and have *no* idea how much time I'll be able to spend at the computer afterwards. Listings for all of our zines can be found at: http://ashtonpress.ma-at.net/zines.htm The first print run of Pretense #1 (Stargate Jack/Daniel zine) is almost sold out. I will be printing more, so no worries if you wanted to order and haven't, *but* I am having surgery in a couple of weeks and will be out of commission for awhile. So, if you did want a copy and don't want to have to wait for another print run or just to have it shipped, ordering now might be a good thing. Issue #2 is almost finished and will be going to press either right before I go in the hospital or a couple of weeks after I get out. http://ashtonpress.ma-at.net/pretense.htm Annie "Bottom line: If you're not telling good stories, people are going to tune out, and they'll see right through the sham." -- Richard Dean Anderson 'The Hollywood Reporter' **************** Save Daniel Jackson: http://www.savedanieljackson.com Ashton Press: http://members.aol.com/ashton7/ashton.htm Fan Fiction: http://members.aol.com/pelkiepet/stories.htm Fanzines: http://www.ashtonpress.ma-at.net/zines.htm Gateway, A Stargate Slash Discussion/Fiction Group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Gateway/join ------------------------------ End of HIGHLA-L Digest - 17 Mar 2002 to 22 Mar 2002 (#2002-27) **************************************************************
