Lavey" Subject: "The Third Disk" part three Plane to Paris -- 2 days later "Perhaps I should kick the back of his chair," Amanda muttered, still mad at Methos for what he said. He and Joe were sitting in fromt of her and Duncan with Richie across the row from them, music blaring from his CD player. "Amanda, don't act like a child," Duncan whispered. "Don't you ever wish you could be a child again MacLeod? Young, innocent, care-free..." "Sometimes," Duncan admitted. Amanda closed her eyes for a moment. She hated long plane trips. At least it was better than walking everywhere. The she opened her eyes, remembering something. "Hey, Mac, you never finished your story. What was the deal with Kandish?" Duncan recalled the scene for a moment. "Kandis said he was going to wire his chopper, so I dug the grave alone. Only a pilot was in the chopper, so...." ****************************************************************************** ** "Here," Barry held out a hand and helped Duncan into the chopper. "Thanks," Duncan said. He looked out the open entrance as the chopper lifted into the air. "It's a shame. They didn't deserve to die." "Oh yes they did. You see, they were the enemy, so they deserved to die." Duncan whirled around. Barry was standing behind him with an evil grin and sword in hand. "You see," he said. "I led the charges against them. Boy, did it make me happy to see all the bad blood splatter on our ground." Anger blazed through Duncan. "It was a nun and a group of schoolchildren! They couldn't have caused you any harm." "But you see, they caused me harm by living. You see, you cause me harm by living too. And now, Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLoed, you're going to die," Barry raised his sword to strike. Duncan, who was weaponless, looked for a way out. "Not if I can help it," he called, diving under Barry's legs and knocking him to the floor. Getting up before Barry did, Duncan spotted a crowbar in one of the cornors. He grabbed it, turned around, and held the bar up infromt of him as Barry struck again. A fight followed with Duncan managing to defend himself from Barry's blows. Then Barry got Duncan cornored by the door. If he lifted the crowbar again, the force from Barry would knock him out the door. That's when Duncan made his desicion. "We'll meet again" Duncan vowed, then leaped out the door. ****************************************************************************** ********** "Have you seen him since?" Amanda asked. "No," Duncan replied, surprisingly bitter. "I found out alot about him throughout the years, though." Paris -- Airport "Hello? Maurice? Did you open up the houseboat?" Duncan leaned against the telephone booth. "Well did you leave a car here? Good, I have the keys for that one. Thanks." Duncan hung up the phone and rejoined the others. "Maurice left us a car in long-term parking. He said...." his voice died away as the Buzz hit him, Richie, Amanda, and Methos. "Who is it?" Joe asked, recognizing the signs his friends were giving off. Suddenly, the large glass window behind them shattered. Around them, people screamed and hit the gorund. Looking out the open hole, they saw the lightening from a Quickening in the sky. The four Immortals looked at each other, then took off in the direction of the Quickening, leaving the Watcher behind. Joe grumbled, and started after them as fast as he could. The four Immortals followed the fading track of lightening to an alley across from the airport. They got there just in time to see Barry Kandish recieve the last part of a Quickening. Weakened, Barry stood up, but when he saw Duncan, Richie, Methos, and Amanda, he emitted a harsh laugh that sent familiar chills up Duncan's spine. "Boy, have I had plenty of these lately," Barry boasted. Then he held up a CD encased in a clear, plastic cover. "And it's all thanks to this baby!! I know the locale of every immortal and their Watcher in the world!! I am invincible!! So there's going to be plenty more where this came from. And I think you," he pointed his sword at Duncan, "better start watching your head!" "Oh, shit!!" Methos said, realizing what Barry had gotten ahold of. The other three Immortals with him all stared at him, then it hit them. "We'll deal with this later," Duncan quicly told Methos. Then they turned aorund to see that Barry had gotten away. "We'll split up," Duncan continued. "Perhaps we can catch him/ We'll all meet up later at the houseboat." The group spilt up. Duncan ran through the alley, following Barry's footsteps. They led to an empty warehouse nearby. The inside was dark, but light filtered through the boarded up windows. Duncan looked in every cornor, but kept quiet to preserve the element of surprise. Then the Buzz hit him. He was around the cornor. Duncan crept around the cornor. It could just as well be Richie, Methos, or Amanda, but he didn't think it was either of them. Thinking he heard a noise behind him, Duncan drew his sword and turned around and began creeping backwards. He felt funny about something. All of a sudden, he backed into someone. He swung around, aiming at the other Immortal's neck, but then stopped the sword inches from his neck when he realized who it was. That was when Duncan realized there was a sword poised inches from his own neck. "YOU!!!!!!!!" Duncan and Connor MacLeod yelled at each other. They dropped their arms and stared at each other. Connor leaned against the wall and threw his sword down. "Damn!" he said. Both men looked at each other and began to laugh. Throwing an arm around each other's shoulders, they took thier weapons and left the warehouse. End of Part 3
