Lavey" Subject: "The Third Disk" part two Seattle(Same Night) -- Dojo "What was that about?" Amanda poured herself a Scotch, then looked back at Duncan, who had pulled a scrapbook down from the bookshelf. "What?" Duncan asked, looking through the book. "Why'd you comment about Kandish hiding forever? Is he Immortal?" Duncan took a phot and handed it to Amanda. "Him. Barry Kandis." Amanda studied the photo. "Barry Kandis, Barry Kandish?" A nod. "I'm pretty sure." Duncan looked up at Amanda. "I'm pretty sure......" ****************************************************************************** ************ Cambodia -- 1975 "Wake up. Hurry." A splash of sand hit Duncan in the face. Duncan's eyes flew open, and his body convulsed as he drew in his first breath. The first one was always the hardest, no matter how many times you've done it. Even before he could focus on his surrondings, he felt the Buzz. Finally, he could focus on the desert sun and saw a blond haired man blocking part of the light. He helped Duncan up. Duncan looked the Immortal over. "Thanks. I'm Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod." The man performed a courtly bow from another era. "Yes, I have heard much about you. I'm Barry Kandis from Bonn." Duncan looked over Barry's shoulder and his eyes grew wide as he took in the destoryed hut and the bloody remanents of the clothing, that the nun and schoolchildren he had been escorting were wearing, proudly displayed on sticks. "NO!!!" he cried, his eyes filling with tears. Even after 383 years, the horror of women and children being the innocent victims of war still depply affected him. Anger also ripped through him for Kurgan not coming back. "Let's go," Barry said rather harshly. "Before they come back." "No," Duncan said. "They may have been slaughter like pigs, but they are going to get a decent burial." ****************************************************************************** ************ Amanda drained her glass. "He doesn't sound that bad." "There's more. About an hour..." Duncan's voice died away as he and Amanda both felt the Buzz. They both stood up. "Richie?" Duncan called. "Not the last time I looked in the mirror," Methos answered. Duncan opened the door and he stepped him. His hands were buried in his pockets and a frown on his face. "We've got a problem," he said, seriously. "What?" Duncan asked. "The guy Claude was watching was found minus his head two days ago. Not only that, but another Immortal and his Watcher were found dead this morning." "Wow, this guy's killing them right and left!" Amanda commented. "I'm not surprised," Duncan remarked, dryly. Methos shot him a look, but didn't press any further. "So what's going to happen now?" Amanda asked. "Another Watcher saw the murder and positively I.D. him as Kandish. Dawson and I are going to Paris." "I'm going with you," Duncan said. "We'll be fine, Mac," Methos answered. Duncan picked up a rag and began toying with it. "Let's just say I have a score to settle with Kandish." "Hey, this sounds like fun. I'll come too," Amanda put in. "Amanda, this is none of your concern," Duncan said. "Well, I'm making it my concern." "Oh, please. The last time you tired to help, you let Kalas escape from prison," Methos groaned. "Well, excuse me, Mr. Self-Absorbed Prig," Amanda shot back. "Self-absorbed?" "Yeah!! You're so full of yourself that you had to become your own Watcher!!!" "Well you're so full of it...." "Guys," Duncan said. "Let's not argue. At least until we get to Paris." Oh boy, he thought. This is gonna be a LONG trip. End part two.
