Lavey" Subject: "The Third Disk" part one Okay, here's my first try at Highlander Fan Fic. Ever since the end of "Finale, part 2" I've been wondering about the third disk. So here's my story. It has nearly everyone in there. There's humor, but there is serious too. I hope ya'll like it!!! Author's Disclaimer: The characters of Duncan and Connor MacLeod, Joe Dawson, Adam Person/Methos, Amanda, Richie Ryan, and Kalas are all borrowed from HIGHLANDER: THE SERIES. Any credit for these wonderful characters goes to the people who created them. This takes places after Finale, part two, mainly in the spring/summer of 1996. It spans between Seattle and Paris. Flashbacks will be marked with ******. Enjoy!! Megan "The Third Disk" Paris -- Shakespeare & Co. "Man, it's a shame both of them are gone," the Watcher typed a password into the computer of the bookstore. "How'd his wife go?" his partner asked. "Kalas got her as she was telling her story to the media." "That's how Kalas got ahold of the disk of Watcher files." "Yep," the Watcher clicked the mouse on FILE MANAGER. "What are you doing?" the other Watcher peered over his shoudler. "Us Watchers are running the store until it's sold." The other Watcher, known as Barry Kandish, began looking at the shelves of books. "It'll be a shame to let this go." "Yes, it will be." Barry looked through the books. He heard it was here somewhere. "Hey what happened to the disk anyways?" "You heard of Duncan MacLeod?" A harsh laugh. "Who hasn't?" "MacLeod beheaded Kalas last spring. The Quickening fried the disk. I'm surprised you haven't heard about it." Barry looked up. "I was in the Arabian Desert for months. I do know the contents of the disk. Do you think there's another?" "Adam Pierson's got the first copy and MacLeod fried the second. Don't even think there is a third." Barry shrugged, then noticed something gleaming off of one of the upper shelves. He reached up and took down a CD. He opened his mouth to speak, but then decided against it. He quietly pocketed the disk. "You never know," he commented. The other Watcher laughed. "Believe me, if there was a third disk, we would have found it by now!" Barry drew his sword. "Don't be so sure about that," he said, as he approached the unsuspecting Watcher. Seattle(one week later) -- Joe's The door to Joe's banged open and Amanda walked in, quite sure of herself as usual. She walked over to the bar and perched on one of the stools. "Hey, Joe," she said to the owner, who was reading a fax. "Damn," Joe Dawson muttered. "Excuse me?" Joe looked up. "Oh, hi, Amanda. Sorry about that." "Damn what?" "Nothing. It's Watcher business." Amanda cocked an eyebrow, and Joe shook his head. Then he sighed. "I'll tell you later, maybe. You'll probably find out anyways. What are you doing here?" Amanda grinned. "I came to bug MacLeod again. It's about time for me to." Joe grinned back. "Well, here's your chance." Amanda looked up at the door in time to see Duncan MacLeod and Richie Ryan walk in. "Come on, Mac," Richie was saying. "She's blond, got a great chest, and a fantastic set of legs. I'll set you up if you want." "Not intrested, Richie." "Come on!" "I said I'm not...Amanda!" Amanda tried to ignore the quickening of her heart as the two men made their way to the bar. Duncan perched on the stool next to her, truely glad to see her. At least Richie would get off his back about dating for awhile. Richie perched on the other stool beside Duncan. "What are you doing here?" Duncan asked Amanda. "Figured it was time to come bug you again," Amanda said with a cocky grin. Before he could think of a retort, Duncan noticed the look on Joe's face. "What's wrong?" Joe looked at Duncan for the first time since he walked in. "It's Watcher business." "That hasn't stopped you from telling us before," Richie pointed out. Joe gave Richie a look, then sighed. "I'm waiting for Adam." "Methos is coming?" Amanda asked. "Methos?" questioned Richie. "Remember my friend, Adam Pierson?" Duncan asked Richie. "Adam is Methos?" Richie said, remembering the story of the oldest living Immortal. "You got it!" Methos walked over to the bar and sat next to Amanda. "Just don't spread it around. What's up?" he then said to Joe. "Remember Claude Sorbien?" Methos nodded. "Well, it seems like he's been murdered," Joe continued. "You'll never gues where." "Where?" "Shakespeare and Co.," Joe leaned closer to Methos. "Is there another back disk of the Watcher files?" Duncan, Amanda, and Richie all held their breaths, waiting for his answer. "Take it easy," Methos said. "There can't be another disk." "That's what you said last time," Duncan pointed out. "Well there can't be anymore disks," Methos retorted. "There better not be," Joe muttered. "There's more." "What?" "A fellow Watcher, Barry Kandish, was with him in the bookstore. He disappeared before the body was discovered." "You think this Kandish murdered Claude?" "That's what we're all thinking." "A Watcher killing a Watcher. That's odd," Duncan said. "Yeah, if it had been this time last year, it coulda been Kalas," Richie pointed out. "Don't remind us!" the rest of the group moaned. "So what are you going to do?" Amanda asked Joe. "We don't know. We've got to find out if Kandish killed Claude, and is so, why? There are Watchers all over the world on the lookout for him. He can't hide forever." Duncan, who had been deep in thought, had a very troubled look on his face. He looked up at Joe. "Or maybe he can." End of Part One
