Subject:      "In Loving Memory" Author's Note

      The story "In Loving Memory" was written as a reminder to everyone,
Immortal and mortal alike, that we really don't have time. People think
that they will always have time to make up, always have time to forgive.
Then things happen beyond our control, and only then we realise the
mistakes we have made. Even Immortals die. It was a hard story to write,
because it was like a final farewell. Saying goodbye is hard. The following
is a poem, from Aria to Darius, written shortly after the candle incident.

                I can only wish
                that I could have said
                goodbye to your light
                I can only dream
                that I could kiss you
                one last time
                I can weep and wail
                tear my hair
                keen through the night
                It can never bring you back
                back to me
                back to those who loved you
                All I can do is
                remember you
                Your light
                Your warmth
                How you loved me
                Sing your songs
                Speak your name
                Never forget
                You will always live
                in the ones who loved you
                Your true light
                will never die
