Innkeeper : Cease confusing me with thy Babble, girl, and answer the door. I hear Someone knocking to come in. Amanda opens the door. Enter Magwitch and Helen. Amanda : My farmer friend and his dear Betrothed, Helen! How goest Your evening? Magwitch : Things go well now, Amanda, Since thy timely invervention Earlier tonight. But tell me, why Hast thou a cloth in thy hand, and Why are the floors here so clean? Thou art surely not a servant! Innkeeper : She is so, Magwitch fool, And leave the servant girl alone. You Are but a foolish farmer, and have No authority. Who is the girl beside you? Helen : Stupid innkeeper! My name is Helen And I am the daughter of Lady Peregrine, the owner of this inn Which you do rent from us. Innkeeper : My lady! I do apologise Most sincerely, and I also do Grovel sickeningly. Helen : So I see. Stand, foolish innkeeper, For I do not wish to see thy bald spot. Amanda, we have been seeking thee, For you did rush off after saving us From those two thugs. Amanda : I had to come back to this inn And meet my master Duncan, But he is not here. He is at your Mother's castle, where he plans To take the head of the Immortal called Daniel Hawk. Helen : But Hawk is a peaceful kind man! Amanda : Blast! Then we cannot have his money? Helen : Amanda, Hawk was evil and cruel, This is true. Amanda : Oh no! Then I must get to Peregrine Castle, Where deceived Duncan may Decapitate poor denigrated Hawk, and Take the Quickening without Knowing what he does. Quick, stand Aside! Exit Amanda.
