Enter Albarn and Gallagher.

Albarn : Ah, I rue the day we came to Cornwall!
        We have had nought but trouble,
        And now this woman Amanda's here,
        And can beat us.

Gallagher : Aye, and the beat would be severe,
        For by the beat of her words,
        I am sure she has been on the beat
        A long time.

Albarn : Quiet with thy wordplay.
        We should make plans to leave.
        This county's no comfort
        To thieves and villains like us.
        Somerset may be easy pickings.

Gallagher : Aye, and in picking Somerset,
        We should pick a fine place,
        For picking the pickings in Somerset
        Is said to be like picking up a thing
        Easily picked up.

Albarn : I warned thee about thy wordplay.
        Now, let's - hold, someone comes.
        Watch, take care.

Enter Samuel.

Samuel : Where are thee, villains?

Albarn : Samuel, foxy scheming Peregrine valet,
        And employer ours,
        We have grievances. A woman did come
        To Magwitch's farm, armed with sword,
        And she did threaten
        To injure us grievously.

Gallagher : A grievous grievance indeed.

Samuel : Quiet, villains, and listen to me.
        A man called Duncan Macleod is here,
        In Cornwall indeed,
        And he seeks the head of the man Hawk
        Who hath supplanted me in my
        Mistress' affections.
        I would have you find Macleod and
        Kidnap him. Drag him to this forest
        Right here.

Albarn : What's your quarrel with him?

Samuel : No quarrel. I wish that he and I
        Should make a bargain, for
        I wish Hawk dead as much as he does.

Gallagher : And the woman Amanda?

Samuel : With her, I shall deal myself.
        Now go, find this Macleod, and bring
        Him to this clearing. Where we
        May make our bargain. I go to put
        An end to this Amanda woman.
        Before night is gone Hawk will die
        And betrothed to the Lady will be I.

Exeunt all.
