Somehow most of this paragraph was inadvertently deleted from the last post I
did of this story. An earlier version was posted, instead. Just wanted to set
the record straight.

Jonathan Raven slid into his first class seat on the bullet train to Kyoto,
and slipped off his sunglasses. He was wearing the black Stetson hat, lizard
skin cowboy boots and faded denim jeans, under a heavy golden sheepskin coat,
looking as much of a cliched stereotype of an American as possible, from the
distinctive subspecies Texan, one known to all Japanese from their national
love affair with the eternal reruns of  Dallas and Dynasty.  Establishing a
clear profile, so that he could later change it and disappear.
